Just because it meets the definition  of PFM back 15 years ago (or whenever that was), doesn't mean that it meets the expectations  of a full fidellity module in 2022 without criticisms from users comparing to the real deal.  Meaning, it's in the right category, but would fail to meet today's  expectations.

I would risk to state current F-15C PFM is closer to the real aircraft than F-16C Block 50 was at initial release. At least such opinions expressed real life pilots, criticising initial F-16C FM and praising F-15C FM.

Also the Phantom was certainly not shelved. Look at the timeline. It was announced my Belsimtek back in 2018. Then Belsimtek was reabsorbed into ED. And here in 2022 it's expected this year.

Whut?

ED / Belsimtek are not developing a Phantom anymore. Heatblur is making it. Heatblur is a 3rd party developer. So yes, my original statement stands: ED shelved the Phantom. They  might have wished to continue it, it's a great subject, but for whatever reason they dropped it. I'm pretty sure that at one point around 2 years ago Nick Grey stated that ED was not going to make a Phantom product (this  well after the early screens and announcements) but that 3rd parties were welcome to do so... and clearly Heatblur rose to the occasion!

The thing is, ED may have decided based on a lot of market research, that while some module ideas would sell, others would sell more. Thus, it's probably a nice profit for a 3rd party dev, but ED maybe has to look for fatter profits, to keep developing DCS World engine, develop better AI, develop a dynamic persistent campaign, create the global map (costly and lots workhours/years) and so on. It's my belief that this need for ED's own modules to create more money, at least partially drives the choices of which modules they make in-house, and which module subjects they approve from 3rd party devs.

I don't thing they're telling us why. But thay have said why the FC3 planes won't be developed in the past.

Hmm, maybe the NDA between ED and Ubi prevents them from talking?

Ultimately, I'm in favor of bringing a C-Eagle to full fidellity module status. I do think it would sell quite well. I  also think there are significant reasons why they've not done so yet, but I'm just guessing about those reasons.

Can I just say I'd love to see a full fidelity F-15C please with liveries from each of the squadrons?

Nothing against the current version but the F-15C Eagle is unparalleled and being replaced by the F-35As + F-15EX Eagle IIs...

I hate to say it, but this conversation is pointless. They are not going to do it. They have their reasons, what ever they are. But they have already said it's off the table. It sucks, but it is what it is.

Things change and you don't know when. The wishlist is just to send a message that people wish something to be done.

Not sure where you are getting your info, but the point of a wish list is to wish for things you want, it is ok for people to show their support for the idea of a full blown F-15C.

I have never heard of any reason why we couldn't. So to say we would never do it is not based in fact as far as I am aware.

Well that is good news. I can't imagine what "market research" could possibly say that the most successful air superiority fighter ever made would not sell in DCS.

I think with the Strike Eagle coming, that is where the focus will stay right now, I think releasing a C would be something interesting afterwards, might even make sense for RAZBAM to do it, but this is all just chat chat, nothing based in fact.

I don't think that market research says that. It's more likely that their research says that other modules offer a higher return on investment. With limited resources, "better kills good", so to speak.

Everyone I know would rather take F-15C over F-15E Strike Eagle. Its faster and more maneuverable jet thats also a single seat which alot of us want.

Edit: I think Razbam would make a phenomenal work on the F-15C if they would be the ones to do it (ofcourse after the release of Strike Eagle)

F-15C and rest of the FC3 planes are dead for ED ...

If other studios / groups, such as RAZBAM, HEATBLUR, DEKA, MAGNITUDE or others, want to make the F-15C in the future, maybe we'll see ... someday ...

But I don't really believe it ...

I hope they do since ED doesn’t seem to care about the most historical and best air superiority jet

my hopes is Razbam will consider it after the Strike Eagle
