Mission 1 no bogeys

Super frustrating, flown way too many times now... I do everything correctly, climb out, hit way point 2 at 30k, relieve escort - pushing awacs, escort E3 to waypoint 3, get relieved, fly to way point 4 at 18k, get into close formation and push Georgian planes, follow in close formation to waypoint 5, and then through way point 6 at 6k, head towards way point 7, get messages from Georgians (tell them we won't be joining) and then tell wingman to push to way point 7 at 20k, he acknowledges and follows in formation at 20k all the way to way point 7...we don't get any message from AWACS about bogeys like I have seen on all the videos.

If I just continue to way point 8 and then land we do not get a mission success. I have tried asking awacs for a "bogey dope" and "picture" from way point 6 to and after way point 7, they always report "clean". Any idea why the bogey report isn't being triggered by the awacs on the way from way point 6 to way point 7?

I'm running on DCS 2.7 steam edition

There are buttons to skip the mission right in the campaign menu. You can refly the mission later.

Hi TunedPort, I just tested the trigger that causes the jets to take off and did not experience the issue you described. If possible, should you or anyone experience the issue again could you please include a .TRK or .ACMI ?

The red fighters' startup is part of the same trigger that plays the VO line "Colt 2-1, Bravo. We just got orders that we need to return to the ABL, our troops are under heavy attack by the separatists. Will you join us?"

 

At this point 2xSu-27 start up at Sochi and begin to taxi. Some time en route or shortly after you arrive at WP7, you should be informed of their presence (this corresponds with the Su-27s taking off and passing through a trigger zone) You will be given an initial heading to steer towards for the intercept.  AI AWACS may still report "clean" during this time depending on where he was in his orbit when the planes took off

 

The Su-27s will fly down the coast and attempt to penetrate Georgian airspace. Within a few minutes of the initial call, you should start receiving regular BRAA calls from AWACS. If left unmolested, the Flankers will bust the border at the mouth of the Enguri river, then fly in Georgian airspace along the mountains until near Kutaisi before turning back towards Russian airspace.

 

When the player successfully intercepts the Russian jets (player within 40 miles) they will turn bug out. You will then be given an option to either RTB to Vaziani or Kutaisi if low on fuel.

I see the Flankers taking off and flying their route as programmed, which is what confused me; I confirm the same results however; no voiceovers after the rejoin despite that. I'll investigate why AWACS is not seeing them and subsequent voiceovers aren't playing ASAP. Appreciate the extra effort getting the track to me!

I've had a similar issue with Mission 1. I never got the message to intercept anything even after reaching WP8.

So I decided to start flying towards Sochi to see what happened and sure enough, after a long time flying there were two bandits flying towards me so I locked them up and they turned around. Only after that the dialog about the bandits going cold came up, followed by the option to divert.

Weirdly, the dialog for 'pop up group' from magic only started after I'd already landed  at Kutaisi and had completed the mission.

Also had some issues with Mission 2 where the bandits would just endlessly orbit in circles around Sochi and would never actually engage me. This was solved by waiting around WP3 for AGES until the bandits eventually came looking for me

Thanks all, this has now been fixed internally and will push with the next update! The AI's departure pattern has changed recently, which caused them to no longer fly through the area which set off the intercept dialogue. I have also adjusted the AWACS' orbit to ensure they are able to detect the bandits.

 

Please submit a track in a separate thread for your issue with mission 02, thanks!

Thanks for the fix! It's appreciated and I'm really enjoying the campaign! 
 

As for mission 2, unfortunately I didn't actually save the track so I've got nothing to post and now I've finished the mission. It was just a heads up if someone else also reports the issue 👍🏻
