Sanikkat's Tu-95MS Mod

Recommended Posts

Stumbled upon this in the user files section  - really nice looking new 3D model for the old Bear bomber, havent had a chance to try it out. Thanks to Sanikkat!

Now there is something I wish for. On all accounts, the Bear was LOUD and you could really hear it from the Tomcat's cockpit. In DCS however, the sound doesnt really stand out, other planes seem a lot louder. Is there a way to change the volume of a particular AI aircrafts engine sound?

I wonder if it would be possible  to modify this excellent Mod in such a way that it does not replace the built-in version, instead going into /saved games/ as a new AI plane. This way it would be compatible with the IC check.

Put this in bazar/textures/avionicscommon where the default textures for this model go.

Its not loaded as spec. Its loaded as a roughmet. Here's an ED secret for you...If the main texture is renamed to have the _roughmet at the end of the file name, it defaults to it and the game will load it as a roughmet, not a spec. Once you have maintexture_roughmet.dds, the game ignores everything else, even if there are lines for spec in the lua.

TU95MSBody_roughmet.dds and TU95MSWings_roughmet.dds

Litterally all you need. But they have to be in the textures folder where all the default textures are located. Not your livery folder. Once you have them in the Textures folder you can add custom ones to your own liveries.

Both of these are roughmets.
