solo por curiosidad, ¿eliminaste tus carpetas fxo y metashaders2? Voy a estar volando en un rato, y también comprobaré si noto alguna diferencia después del parche.

I always delete them after updating

Problem detected!!, a windows update today activated HAGS, it seems that it doesn't get along very well with MR 🤬

So the way to go is to disable it all the time, right? I think I've heard that somewhere else too.

How much time compiling and did you actually see any FPS gain? Before the latest patch it was taking for ever for me and no significant fps gain.

A loooong time to initially compile.  I cant remember but probably 15 or so minutes.  And yeah, definite gain in terms of smoothness and settings I can run, as well as the albedo supersampling is still incredible and makes it so you can run lower resolutions without any issues.

How are you sharpening with openXR? Also, for G2 guys how much are you messing with saturation to improve color? Or are you messing with the RGB values?

Have a look at this thread. Shift+F7 to open menu in VR. Then follow onscreen instructions to go to the two sharpening pages. You can Sharpen exterior, cockpit, MFDs and HUD separately there.

The page to adjust the night vision goggles is very nice, too.

I cannot answer your second question, as I didn't change colors yet.

OpenXR Toolkit - (Do it!)

When I turned this on (and I've used it in MSFS, so I know the benefits it can offer), it's as if I somehow have activated a superzoom mode, and everything is right up in my face.

Has anyone had this issue and know how to fix it?  I had to turn it back off, it's totally unplayable that way.

Try this:

Re-calibrate your headset by clearing the environment and then realigning via Mixed Reality Portal, SEATED, and with the headset in the exact same position and with the exact same posture and direction you intend to fly in

You have adjusted pixel density on DCS VR tab above 1.0 right? You have to set it to 1.0, if higher you will see that zoom.

If you need more resolution use the Resolution Override option on OpenXR overlay menu

I've got the same problem. No matter what I do, DCS starts in normal Mode without VR. No other VR mod used before.

  • I use DCS Stable standalone. Clean & Repair with SkatZilla -> done.
  • Saved Game folder rename -> done
  • VR is enabled in options and PD is 1.0 -> done
  • OpenXR Tools: latest preview, 100%, runtime as OpenXR -> done
  • OpenComposite: Switch to OpenComposite, also "App Configuration" DCS to OpenComposite -> done
  • Delete/Rename your D3DCompiler_47.dll -> done
  • SteamVR automatic launch is unticked -> done
  • Re-calibrate your headset by clearing the environment -> done
  • OpenXR Toolkit: I think a had it installed already for MSFS2020. Tried activated "Saved Mode" and also uninstalled -> no change
  • Tried also the uninstall and reinstall of the OpenXR apps -> no change

It looks like OpenComposite does not "catch" DCS. No error or any other message. Nothing usefull in dcs.log

Is there any other way to test it? Or some logfiles? OpenXR has less options for troubleshooting as far as I can find. Google brings me also only the "First steps with OpenXR" things.

Any help is really welcome!

An interesting solution from one of the OpenComposite Developers that I saw. They were trying to solve an issue with ACC (an other racing sim) but a similar story. This was the solution:

Try closing OC and Steam making sure it's not running at all by checking tray and task manager. Then start OC, click on the switch to OC button, then restart Steam. Check OC app config for steam with lowercase 's' and Steam with uppercase 'S'. Set steam to always use SteamVR and Steam to always use default. Shut down Steam (check tray etc) and OC again. Run OC and click switch to OC if needed again. Now restart Steam. Try ACC

Hi, I'm sorry but this is confusing me:

Try closing OC and Steam making sure it's not running at all by checking tray and task manager. -> clear
Then start OC, click on the switch to OC button, then restart Steam. -> I start Steam and I got this message: OpenComposite DLLMain ERROR: Cannot init VR: unsupported apptype 6
Check OC app config for steam with lowercase 's' and Steam with uppercase 'S'. -> After I click Ok on the error message I start Steam again, without error. But in App Configuration there is only steam. There is no additional Steam entry.

And again DCS starts only in 2D mode. 😞

I found an old version of OpenComposite (11.12.2019) on my hard disk. Maybe for some Tests with MSFS2020.

Maybe this is the problem. How can I clean it up?

Yup works well, and the fontsize for menus and fps display appears smaller, which is good IMHO.

I'm having the 2D issue as well.  If I set OC back to Steam everything works.  OXR worked before...  but I had been using the older version that didn't use Open Composite.

I can see the OpenXR environment when I hit the button to show it (more later on this)

WMR works.

Headset works.

How I got there...

I removed any mods (only had OXR, using OVGME) updated DCS to the last patch and then ran through all steps of the install on post one...  Everything.

I ran skate's repair with the all files and extra files buttons.

I did not "download" the latest version of OXRTools...  But I verified settings and am assuming it keeps itself up to date.

I downloaded the Open Composite package and did the things there.  As you say in the destructions my app config page was blank until after running DCS the first time, now it has DCS there.  Status is OpenComposite.

I renamed the D3DCompiler file to .old.  SVR still works after this BTW...  must be using a default somewhere like OC would.

Verified Mixed REality Headset Display settings.

Cleared Env Data and then realigned in WMR.

I DO get an error but of course I didn't write it down last night.  I was just itching to test the new BVR stuff so I just used SVR.  Also...  Since I've been playing with the Apache so much lately I instead chose a very familiar mission and did that as a SVR/OXR comparison.  The SCUD buster mission that comes with the Apache...

Please help me get OXR working again LOL :).

The Error said something about an incorrect "apptype" as I recall.

Another thing to note...  When I run the OXR environment...  It runs only until the timer countdown (the one telling you to press Ctrl+Num2 as I recall) gets done...  then the headset goes black and seems to crash something in the system.  I say that because after the headset goes black WMR thinks it's asleep and won't wake it back up for a while even if I close WMR and re-open.  If I wait a little while then it will wake the headset again.

I know this is likely an odd one...  and I can't test anything until about 10 hours from now...

I reverted back to the original OpenOVR as it works 100% out of the box. OpenXR has been more hit than miss for me, that would be my suggestion. Someone was nice enough to pack the files into one bag, my turn to return the favor if you need it.
