Short answer is, you can't (yet).

Long answer, you can stabilize the sight somewhat with the LMC switch, it won't be perfect but there it is.

You toggle LMC mode on and off with a button press.

When in LMC mode, you want to make tiny adjustments to alter the movement of the crosshairs.  It's almost like a trim mode for the crosshairs.  It will continue in a straight line when you have no input on the axis, and you can nudge it in any direction to change the motion vector.

I found setting a curve on the axis for the mini stick on my XBox controller (maybe 20?) and a small dead zone was cruicial to getting LMC to work nicely, otherwise tiny adjustments were impossible, and it would wander on its own because of drift on the analog stick.

When LMC is OFF then you change the position of the TADS crosshair. When LMC is ON then you change the speed of the crosshair.

Upon pressing the LMC to set it ON sets the crosshair speed to zero which makes the crosshair stationary ("ground stabilized"). When the chopper is moving then this is an easy way to "fix" a position after trying to chase it with LMC off. Just don't forget that with LMC ON it needs really miniscule movement to fine tune the speed of the crosshair.

During LMC mode the motion of the chopper is taken into account to stabilize the crosshair motion.
