Buggy tank driving behavior since 2.7.11.21408.1

Hi,

Currently tanks are totally undriveable.

WHen idle and forward gear engaged, the tank will roll backward...

When idle and backward gear engaged , the tank will roll forward...

As if it was not enough, tanks will now accelerate up to max speed at insane rate. You will feel every gear like if you were driving an old jeep willis. To note, if I try using an axis for accelerator, there is not anymore any progressity in acceleration, and it is by the way totally insane, leopard 2 for example accelerate like a formula 1, causing ridiculous maneuvers and drifts...

TO finish in backward speed the aiming is shaking if stab is on.

Ah no, not finished... Last but not least, in MP, no engine sound when driving a tank

Combined arms is completely dead for use as of now. I can confirm the issue on two different computers, with no mods at all installed.

Welp... If you could simply leave CA as it was on previous versions, it simply would be better.

Ok, so I dont see anything more than the acceleration seems a bit more responsive. I see the vibration on reverse which I can check and report, I also hear tank engine sounds. I dont see anything too crazy, but I will ask about the acceleration.

When I engage the reverse gear while stopped, the vehicle moves forward alone. Same goes if gear forward, the vehicle reversing. This is a problem ! In neutral, if you're on a slope, you'll go down the slope even with handbrake on because the handbrake already does not work properly, for like a year. The only way was set a gear forward like IRL. Now it does the exact opposite and gets you reversing...

Sincerely the vehicle handling is entirely broken with all this cumulated.

I tried with an entirely fresh install, I get the same.

Dealing with the acceleration, it's not simply that it is completely too fast. If you use an axis, setting power above 10% will be like full throttle, making any axis based system totally unusable. Frankly, CA costs 30 bucks, it should be a freeware at this level, when the very basis of a vehicle handling don't even work... I can get that there can be some bugs, and that it's not really realistic, but here the very basis of the product is destroyed. Or get written in the product description "this product does not work at all"...

Simply get it restored to the previous version level, everything was perfectly fine with it.

Thank you but please again, simply get them to restore this to the previous version, this is all what is needed currently. It was not perfect but at least driveable... And behaved like a real (soviet) tank.

Not able to reproduce that, handbrake holds me on a slope, unless you are talking about a cliff.

I see now, if left in gear it does weird stuff on a steep hill. Will report as well. We cant just roll back, I think the issues came with the addition, or the start to add damage effects to player controlled vehicles.

Ah ok good. It's probably not going to work as intended because it's CA but it's good ! 🤣

Would it be based on the life of the unit or the damaged zone via the complex armor scheme ? (So I can already figure out how to prepare the FrenchPack to it ^^)

This will now happen with Player controlled tanks, if you get enough damage your tank may slow, you may lose weapons, etc.

Wow, this is really great news. Some first consequences of battle damage would be really nice. Especially losing the range finder would be interesting, because it would give all those backup sights finally a purpose. 🙂

However, the slowdown already happens on player vehicles, if they get damaged.

The engine sounds seem to mostly work when I tested them in the ME. But in MP the same vehicles have no engine sounds now. This seems connected to the fact that we now can shut engines off manually. The vehicles I notice with no engine noise in MP are the ones that didn't have a starter sound when you would initially jump into them as a player.

Also you can get a Leo or Abrams (or any armor or vehicle it seems) from 0 to top speed from a top gear pull in like 1-2 seconds. They also can go top speed up mountain slopes at like 45 degrees lol

My favorite is this old bug revisited.

317mph, not bad 😄
