Crossfire support for DCS: Black Shark?

Does anyone know if there is specific Crossfire support for Black Shark?

 

Newegg/Paypal is doing a great promo making a 4850X2 only about $230 after rebates.

 

My understanding is that without specific support, the card will only perform as a single 4850.

 

The 4850X2 is beating the GTX280 at hight res on virtually every big name title. My concern is that BS is a bit.. obscure and has limitted distribution at the moment. If it does not have Crossfire yet, what will it take form AMD to add it?

 

I imagine Lock-On has Crossfire support?

BTW, I am taling about AFR (Alternate Frame Rendering) support. Apparantly Crossfire defaults back to basic support for all titles (unlike SLI).

I don't think you'll get much benefit from the card for BS, it's more CPU bound than graphics bound.

I appreciate the comment, and this is a typical comment regarding BS, however there are several documented cases on the forums where a video card upgrade significantly moves performance. Now it may be that once you get to a 4850 class card it ceases to matter, but I don't think so.

BS doesn't support multiple CPU or GPU, so the benefit is pretty low and it may cause more trouble than fun.

 

 

I'd rather invest the money into a faster board, fast memory or CPU. :thumbup:
