Dual-core problem

I've had a problem since installing BS on my PC; It will not run on both cores with-out either Cntrl/Alt/Del out to Task-Manager and setting the affinity or Tabbing out to desk top and setting it. This has to be done after I get actually in-mission/flight for it to work, and has to be done each time I fly (go in or out of mission etc).

If I don't set it to run on dual-cores I get control issues.

I have tried Priffinity, but this does not work for me. Any ideas?

Q: Does DCS: Black Shark take advantage of multi-core processors?

A: DCS: Black Shark uses a modified version of The Fighter Collection Simulation Engine (TFCSE), which was not originally designed to take advantage of multi-core processor technologies. Nevertheless, such systems do generally provide better game performance as a result of their native capabilities.

You can try manually setting the core affinity for DCS to all of the CPU cores, which may boots your game performance. To do this, Alt-Tab out of a running mission, set the CPU affinity for DCS and Alt-Tab back in. You will have to do this every time you run the sim.

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind combat pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S.

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

@ Lange; I had seen this, but it's such a pain to have to do this, and allied with long loading times... -I was hoping to get a solution -which Priffinity seemed to be offering.

As for the consequences of not using both cores; some commands will not work, I hear the windows 'exclamation' noise on many key-presses, and my controller's buttons don't function on some commands or simply enact the wrong commands, are the main results. Activating both cores also slightly improves FR.

So, I'm just hoping that I can make life much less hassle when using this mostly other-wise great sim.

What do you mean when you say Priffinity isnt working?

Well, it makes no difference when I use Priffinity; It shows in the Priffinity box (which is always there either on-top or in background) that it's supposedly using both cores, but only if you tab-out of BS and go back in will it work thus. This is what I'm trying to avoid doing in the first place...

It's an easy tool to use, and I've utilised it every way I possibly can do.

Archer, I believe this is the solution you seek...

Very kind gent by the name of wombat wrote a command to make Dual or Quad work without exiting out of the sim. Check out post #189...later on he explains it in further detail (to moi), because some people are thicker than others.

It works great, you have to start his program before BS, but thats it....no more alt-tab or cntlaltdlt.
