Air to air procedure

What is the best air to air procedure.

I got my first online a-a kill yesterday but was really struggling getting initial lock.

 

Any ideas ?

GG as usually doesn't believe in helicopter capabilioties :D A-A is raw but it can be very funny ^^

My procedure to kill A/A target is:

- Engage the helmet targeting system and the A/A targeting mode

- Find the target

- keep the shkval (keep pressed key O) in movement until the little circle in the HUD is throught the target

- Lock the target, until you see TA-NA (russian HUD) in the HUD.

- Fire with the gun.

 

With this procedure, I dont watch the Schkval screen, i keep my eyes on the target.

I forget to say: i use TrackIR to tracking the target with the skhval and i use the "turn to target mode".
