Best to ask in the open composite setup thread or specifically ask the people who have set it up with the quest.

Is there a good installation process for the quest 2? I keep receiving open composite errors on start up and can't launch DCS. Thanks!

Do you need open composite for the quest? DCS support oculus natively so unlike WMR users it no bridge is required.

You don't need it but it has been reported that running OXR improved smoothness I think.

following, same problem. Quick question, when running OPENXR tools from windwos 10, mine says cant detect HMD. Is it because Oculus not supported offically or am I doing something wrong?

Specs: 13900k @ 5.5Ghz, 64GB @ 3600Mhz, 3080Ti.

So the way I was able to get it to run is using the Skatezilla DCS updater and launch using steamvr instead of oculus runtime through that program under app settings. Now I have a problem with a warped display almost like a fisheye effect.

It will say that but make sure you are using oculus runtime for openXR in the oculus program. You can test to see if it is working by starting the demo in OPENXR tools

Did anyone manage to solve distortions issue on Quest 2? Seems to me like the focal length is wrong.

UPD: I did it 😀 Use this tool:

Just push swap top and bottom, save, and that's it.

I gave up a while ago. I couldn't get the tools to open and the dev's didn't really care to help all that much.

I don't understand why they can't make an OvGME version...

OpenXR 0.6.3 works perfectly with OpenXR toolkit 1.1.0 in DCS with Quest2. The latest OpenComposite version of OpenXR is not yet working with OpenXR toolkit . The Devs will soon provide an update to resolve the issue.

I have everything installed.. Here is the thing.. is it launched this way?

Quest2/standalone

DCSlauncher (set to SteamVR) >  Opencomposit runtime switcher (set to opencomposit) >>> SteamVR (steamvr runtime)

or

DCSlauncher (set to steamVR) > Opencomposit set to open composit>>> oculus (occulus runtime) <-- when I run this I get crashes and openxr tools wont stay open and crashes (conflict in runtime I'm guessing)

It doesn't crash running though steamvr but steamvr actually launches it instead of on the oculus app.. if I set the oculus app to defualt I get crashes on game and tools.

So i can't get it to launch out of steamvr without acutally loading steamvr, and if I do get i get crashes.. the closest I got was an openvr.dll error somehow.

I've never been able to make it work.

Of course it works:

1. Install OpenXR Toolkit and enable it
2. Put the OpenComposite openvr_api.dll on bin folder and, from the same folder, remove D3DCompiler.dll
3. Launch DCS on SteamVR mode (create a shorcut adding "--force_enable_steamvr at the end of the route)

With that DCS should be running on OpenXR, now you configure OpenXR Toolkit as you wish

You can use the global switcher to tell all VR apps to use either open composite or steamvr.

If you're using an oculus headset then setting it to use the oculus runtimes will stop it using openxr. Alternatively you could just uninstall open composite.

my understanding is you just switch back to default runtime which is steamvr. So actually as long as you don't run SteamVR and you are not using the option Force Steamvr when you launch DCS, then you are using Oculus default runtime.

Thank you . Flew in multiplayer last night on my quest2 . Cockpit looked clear as day but outside world was jaggy and blurry . Would that be PD.1.0 or game options No MSAA .?
