Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Sorry if this was discussed. I seem to only get sound from my two front speakers on this sim and not my rear speakers. Is this normal? I didn't see an audio option for this. Thanks.
Slayer Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Works on all channels here, theres no setting in the game because it uses the windows settings.. Posted December 16, 2008 Author Posted December 16, 2008 hmmm....windows has it set to quadraphonic since I have 4 speakers. I'll have to check this again in game.... thanks.
Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 I checked all my settings. I have windows set to quadraphonic speakers as I have 4 speakers. I still do not get any sound from my rear speakers in game. A speaker check from X-fi audio volume panel gives me sound from all 4 speakers. Also all other games I'm getting sound from rear speakers but not DCS Blackshark. Does anyone else have the same problem I do or know a fix for it? Thanks.
VMFA117_Poko Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 If you use Vista64 press RMB on a speaker icon in tray, choose Playback Devices. Window will appear. Press LMB one time on a "Speaker" to lit. Choose "Configure" in left down corner of the window. Check your speakers settings there. Second settings are in Speakers - Properties - Soundblaster Tag - Speakers tag. Both settings should be the same.
ZaltysZ Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 You should use Creative Alchemy with X-Fi on Vista to get more than stereo (or stereo upmixed to more speakers). For Realtec: use 3D SoundBack. Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
DTWD Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I have a 5.1 system and after some complaints from the missus, and for multiplayer, I switched to stereo headphones. For a bit I thought the sound was broke because I was missing all the voice sounds (warnings etc). Took me a bit of time to remember to switch it back to stereo in windows, so it's defo more than stereo. I can't comment on the surround channels though, but I am pretty sure I have heard stuff comming from them. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 I have XP 32 bit by the way. No Vista...... This sucks, I want to be able to get surround sound! Maybe it's a bug with quadraphonic setups???? :(

Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 (edited) Latest drivers for X-fi downloaded and installed through Creative Autoupdate.... Does anyone know if there is a file (like .lua or .ini or .cfg) within blackshark that has the settings for speaker setup? I don't understand why only this game. Other games like IL2 and FSX I get surround sound. Edited January 9, 2009 by <((((><
ZaltysZ Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 ...sound here is "more than stereo" too - all seven satelites stay sharp....without having alchemy! Greets S@uDepp Upmixing to satellites might be done via Creative CMSS-3D (look at Creative Audio Console), however it is just an upmix. True 3D/surround from DirectSound3D based game in Vista is only possible with Alchemy. Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
SuDepp Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 ....theres more than an upmix! In 2D I use to use the 3D StereoSurround (THX to Daniel_K ! ), while in BS must be something different - some sounds come from the rear only, sometimes...... For example hovering sound comes mostly from the front and stays in the front of the virtual cockpit although I´m with TrackIR and turning to the side. So there must be more than an upmix.... @<((((><: what kind of x-fi and what driver version?! How is the behaviour with other (non EAX) games incl. 3D sound like OAL ?
