Map 'North Up' orientation gives incorrect symbology bearing for ASE threats

When using TSD - MAP - ORIENT N-up (north up), when  you get an ASE vocal warning (e.g. SA-8 12 o'clock), this is correct, however the TSD should visually show the symbology in front of the aircraft. What is instead happening, is the symbology in this case is at the 12 o'clock position as if we were in TRK UP orientation.

This is one of those things that sounds like either way could be right.

If the ASE always showed radar signals such that they correspond to your map settings then for some people I can see how they might find that a good way to maintain situational awareness on the map. However, from a personal perspective having the ASE show signals that correspond to the verbal warnings by referencing the your own 12 o'clock perspective it could cut recognition and reaction time down slightly.

To my mind the behaviour seen in your track makes sense if audio warnings use the clock-type of callout. Had they opted to call out a bearing or even a cardinal direction then perhaps the other way might make more sense to me. Sounds like this is one for the SME's to weigh in on.

I agree the ASE screen should correspond to 12 o'clock always being the top of the screen. However, I think logically the TSD screen should adjust the position of ASE contacts in accordance to the orientation of your own ship.

This is only my opinion on what makes sense, and you are right, the SMEs would need to weigh in on what is correct behavior in real life.

I second this report. Noticed it today. And yea, I am with zyll that these reports should correspond with your nose otherwise  they are of little value. I believe this to be a bug of how Ase contacts are plotted on the TSD in north orientation.
