This was the first Apache Longbow to enter service with the British Army, having been delivered to RAF Yeovilton in December 1999. In 2006 it was assigned to 662 Squadron, 3 Regiment Army Air Corps at Wattisham Airfield. In 2013, ZJ171 was part of the aerial display at Cosford Air Show, crewed by Staff Sergeant Jamie Boakes (Pilot) and Captain Harry Wales (CP/G), better known as Prince Harry. First off, a huge shout out and thanks goes to Alexander in the support team, I hadn't created an account and they helped take care of me so I could post! This is my first livery I am releasing to the public! It has been an intense past few weeks of me working on this nearly full time! Learned a lot and I am really happy with what i achieved, and I hope you all enjoy this livery as well! This is a fictional "what if" skin for the 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron in Canada, based out of Edmonton. I chose this unit because its where I grew up, and seems to fit thematically with where the Canadian Forces would possibly use the Apache. So here is my imagining of what a Canadian version of the AH-64D would look like in use. This uses the colours, markings, and pattern that is commonly used in the Griffon helicopters in use today. Thank you very much! I hope you all enjoy this skin as much as I have!
