FARP communication ATC isn't ready still?

ATC of FARP keeps telling me about taxiing (there is no taxiway here!), freezes when taking off, or doesn't see me landing (no option to ask to land at all).

Hello ED, did you notice that we have more and more copters and next (Kiowa, Bolkov) incoming too?

What about ATC for FARP, its ready only for standard airport with the runway but what about FARP? :bye_2:

I seem to recall ATC being a thing they have been working on for a number of years that was to be more extensive than the Super Carrier module. Honestly feel like that should have been done a long time ago as ATC is one of the weakest items DCS has. If ATC were realistic, Id have no need for pilots lessons and could just waltz through it...but yeah.

Not really. They are suggestions, not requirements and generally the pilots are talking to each other, not a controller. Hence, no need for Air Traffic Control.

All you need is a common traffic advisory frequency.

well theres also the thing where FARPs are attended to by other units and its likely they would have a radio set as well, so its not too far off the mark.

Well, it is actually in there. I use the VAICOM plugin for VoiceAttack. And as long as the FARP is setup correctly and you are tuned to it, you can declare inbound and ask for landing permission, because VAICOM totally circumvents the radio menu and doesn't use keybinds. So I'm sure we'll see it in the radio menu at some point.

I think the OP's gripe was more about having a 'tailored' ATC specifically for FARP's - ie: no need for taxiing, etc.

Given how long the standard ATC is taking to implement, I can't see a specialised FARP ATC coming any time soon. And I guess it would be a completely different system? I have no idea how it works in reality, but as someone stated above, it's not like there's a control tower or anything. So you'd be communicating with... aircrew directly maybe? No idea.

At this point I'll just be absolutely delighted when ED tells us something... anything... about the revamped general ATC.

Unfortunately, nothing is known, I would like a truncated version - permission to take off, landing, like FARP, let it give simplified messages. That would be enough for now.
