JetSeat Replacement Motors

Recommended Posts

I’ll let you know… albeit not wholly convinced that this is the issue but as the motors are less than £8 shipped I thought it worth a punt before dismantling the seat further.

I’ll report back accordingly, pleased I found this thread as it’s been most useful so far in my quest to beget back some good vibrations!!

Wasn't the motor after all!!
Got a reply from Sergio who advised me to silicon grease my motor and reflash the firmware...  Just done that and hey-presto!  JetSeat is back in action and purring like it should.
Here is the link to the firmware and instructions;
https://simshaker.com/guides/firmware/

Glad that worked out for you. I already tried silicon grease on my motor. It gets power but doesn't spin. I can feel it very slightly hum/vibrate. It does spin freely if I move it with my hand but it should do that anyway. I will try reloading the firmware but not having crazy high hopes.

bright side, thankfully there is one guy, who took over gametrix legacy and kept on improving, building and maintaing those things, otherwise they would be a relic from the past.
also, check SRS shaker systems for simracing, I think the software (which license is WAY more expensive than Simshaker) works for both simracing and flight sims, and they come from USA

This actually looks like a better option, but even more crazy expensive (especially if you have to pay for the software too), and I don't even see a warranty?  For something this 'flimsy' (compared to a joystick/throttle, or a racing wheel/pedals) they should at least stand behind the product (5 years at least) when they're charging this much.  I could get a new Virpil T50CM3 throttle for the same price as this.

That's fine, but it had better last the 20+ years that I expect the throttle to last.  For example, my Saitek X45 joystick and throttle were still working fine after 22 years when I sold them for half what I paid new this past fall.  It seems people are starting to accept 'a couple years' as good enough for something to last when you spend $600.  That's not good enough for me.

I dont follow your way of thinking too much.

And please let me doubt your x45 is working fine after 22 years of usage, not to mention there are alternatives for hotas, and not for the items we mention here, ffedback units for ass and lumbar areas

You don't understand?  Can't help you with that.  And yah, it was working fine.  Believe it.

I did try reloading the firmware as suggested but that didn't help bring the dead motor back to life. I've been using the seat as is until more motors go dead before I try to buy random ones on Amazon and figure out how to swap them out.

Figure if I do that now I will ruin the seat and won't have an alternative so may as well wait until it gets worse.

I would need a wiring diagram or a replacement board. Don't know where to buy? I inadvertently plugged in 19v instead of 12v

Andre has them but he never replied back to my email. If you are not in the US he may be able to sell you the parts. The US still has sanctions and postal suspensions from/to Russia which is why I am guessing even if it's under warranty still, nothing can be done for me.
