DCS:BS quits immediately after starting up.

I just bought the US download version. I have the latest DirectX drivers as provided by the installer.

 

When I try to launch Black Shark from the icon that it installed on my Desktop, the Launcher.exe activates and shows a screen that says "Loading...". I hear a few seconds of music and then it just quits. There is no error message.

 

There are also no errors in my ..\Temp\ folder and no *.crash file.

 

I can start Black Shark from the Multiplayer icon, however.

 

I tried activating the game with the protect.exe, but that seemed to have no effect (although presumably my game is activated now).

Plese uninstall additional video codes for testing purposes.

I uninstalled all of my video codecs that I could find that were installed. it doesn't seem to make any difference at all.

Rougly same, but no music or whatsoever. Multiplayer gives UI but singleplayer does nothing but initial-start (edge of a new window shows) than crashes.

No crashlogs, no error message. Deleted FFDSHOW, tried re-sizing screen resolution, rebooted. Nothing seems to work.

AMD 3200+, 2GB, Ati Radeon 9800Pro, driver 8.191.0.0, DrectX 9.0C(4.09.00000.0904)

Saw somebody else fly.

 

However, I cannot un-pause my own game and Single Player game still not working.

I'm having the same issue with not being able to unpause my game in MP as well.

 

This is the first piece of software I've bought in forever that simply will not work out of the box with no indication as to why. It's very discouraging.

Are you guys using Vista? A friend of mine is having the same issue, i wonder if its OS related.

Uninstall your videocard drivers and then use a driver cleaning program. Re-install the drivers then install the latest version of DirectX. Look for the November Redist. file.

 

See if that works.

I've already done the whole driver reinstall thing. It doesn't appear to change anything.

Looks like you have OpenGL problems. Could you try to change your video driver version?
