DCS doesn't start after upgrade to 2.7.11.22211

Recommended Posts

Dear All,

After a hiatus of a few weeks, I've been invited to update my DCS (stable version) to version nr 2.7.11.22211.

After a download of about 32 GB of stuff, the sim crashes on startup.

Here's what happens:

1) I normally launch DCS

2) I get the launch screen:

immagine.png

3) I get the LOGGING IN message

immagine.png

4) The GETTING AUTHORIZATION DATA window appears:

and after that the whole launch process stops with no futrther message and/or notice.

I tried a REPAIR but couldnt solve the problem.

Any hint, please?

Thanks in advance for your kind and preciousvhelp.

Regards,

Andrea

You dont provide any log file, so it’s hard to make an accurate diagnosis… but if I had to guess: you most likely are using an incompatible user Mod … disable all your user mods and try to start DCS again, if it works then re-enable your Mods one by one until you find which is the incompatible one.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I firstly followed GurbyY's suggestion, and this solved the problem. So thanks a lot for that.

Concerning Rudel's reply, I only found 2 LOGs:

autoupdate_log, generated after my repair trial

autoupdate_log_old, which was created right after the update

I attach them here.

Thanks again for your precious help. I would hae never be able to find the solution without you.

Ciao!

Andrea

The dcs.log file is at /saved games/DCS/Logs/

but since you already solved the issue, just keep it in mind for future use 🙂
