Light underneath the left MFD - how to change it's brightness?

Just out in my Hornet for a night mission.

There's a floodlight under the left MFD and despite trying seemingly every light switch, I've been unable to change it.  Any good suggestions?

If it's the light I'm thinking of, that sounds like the Engine Instrument light. Comes on whenever the APU switch is ON. If so, there is no control for it, otherwise we'd need to see a picture of what you're referring to.

Hi,

You can control IFEI lighting with the knob, but NITE mode must be selected, no control when set to DAY

Ehi @BIGNEWY, could you ask the team to take a look at it? The IFEI lighting, I mean, even at lowest brightness, at night, it's still too bright.

It's the only light left in the Hornet cockpit that can't be set properly, there's almost no variation from maximum to minimum brightness.

I can add it to the wish list for now.

thanks

Sorry, had forgotten about this thread.

Just been out in the Hornet at night.  Here's some screenshots:

Apologies for the quality.

The light bulb appears to be physically positioned underneath the left MDI.  It's definitely NOT the IFEI itself, rather a light that shines primarily over the group of buttons used for selective jettison.  As can be seen on the final photo, the worst issue is at night, whilst using NVGs.

Hope that helps.

Hey @Mr_sukebe the light you're talking about turns on when you turn the APU on and should go off when the APU shuts off during the start procedure, I've never seen it on in any other scenario. I just tried the whole procedure again, it works like that, there's no control on the internal light panel connected to that light, it's linked to the APU and should be working only while the APU is working.

You do have your flood and chart lights knobs all the way off, don't you?

EDIT: Sniped! Nice job Tholozor!

Yep, that was it chaps.  My button mapping was to a switch that was keeping the APU running.

Sorted!!

My thanks guys, much appreciated.
