F16 FCR Underpreforming in all aspects

Recommended Posts

So after doing some homework after my speculation that the F16 radar is underpreforming in all aspects compared to its real life counterpart. I found some important data about how it should actually perform.

(public data)

Im just leaving this here for ED to check and validate.

Hi,

I see the PDF is referencing Harpoon4, but where did you get these RCS values from for the aircraft?

(Need Real World Evidence)

Newy read the document.

This material appeared in the April (#24) and October (#25) 2003 issues of the Naval SITREP

Bibliography

Radar Evaluation Handbook, Barton, Dr. David K.,
Artech House, 1991
Jane’s Weapons Systems series
Jane’s Radar and Electronic Warfare series

this are the resources they used

it is on page 2 of the pdf

So maybe taking the data directly from those sources would be a better option? This document on it's own doesn't show anything.

Naval SITREP seems to be the name for the game's newsletter.. https://www.wargamevault.com/product/125950/Naval-SITREP-24-April-2003

I understand, but the pdf above is for a game, we would need to use the real world evidence, and we have already done a lot of research here.

thanks

Just gonna leave this quote from the site you linked

"The Naval SITREP is published twice a year by the Admiralty Trilogy Group. It supports the Admiralty Trilogy game system with scenarios, articles on history and technology, and rules expansions & corrections."

What version of the APG68 do those graphs assume? Where are these graphs from? Lastly do you actually think the APG63 is weaker than the 68?

How dare you question a board game as a source of accurate info; if the board game using top secret NATOPS sources says the F-16 has a better radar than the F-15, you should believe that over publicly available data and common sense!

Sorry, but the state of radar after the last patch is correct? I barely get a lock on a lock up target 16 miles ahead... I suppose a multi-milion 90's fighter have a better radar...

Don't forget that the F-16 was developed as a cheap lightweight fighter that can be build in big numbers and it was only equipped with a gun and Sidewinders for A/A. BVR was originally not envisioned for this aircraft.

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

We have reported the concerns of the community and the team are investigating.

This thread has no evidence that can be used, if you do have evidence please PM myself or NIneline.
