Lau
Latest open beta Issue: AI FA18C stalling while intercepting a tanker to refuel When? When having to climb to intercept a tanker that is approaching the FA18C at high intercept speed. Even in a stall condition, the FA18C will not use afterburner to exit the stall and will eventually crash. Edited May 7, 2022 by Lau No customer support or modules in an abandoned state can only mean no further investments from ED’s customers. ED and third party developers are solely responsible for the level of features completeness at which they decide to release their modules. Taking in to account customers feedback as well as finishing the products is paramount. After release, modules should be playable with important essential features completed at very early stages after the release, including bug fixes. ED & partners staffs should grow with the addition of newer modules in order to not diminish the level of customer support or further delay delivery as per the initial sales agreement. The virtual world we fly with our modules is equally important; there is no way around AI, real weather and the earth map. Thank you

It is not affected by tanker type (kc-130 / kc135MPRS) or tanker speed (250 or 400 knots). When Hornet group approach tanker Hot (face to face) they stall and crash during maneuver. Exorcet
I guess this is what I saw during a mission test. F-18's were scheduled to meet up with tankers, but when I looked at them they were all flying at ~100 knots and falling slowly until they hit the ocean. ED Team NineLine Posted May 10, 2022 ED Team Share Posted May 10, 2022 I took the track above and added a more complete flight path for the Hornets, and then the refueled correctly. I think because the Hornets have no route, they just kind of get lost, you are giving them a waypoint action with no real waypoints if that makes sense. It really seems to be the face to face configuration that triggers the bugged maneuver. Hornet-refuel-tanker-bug - NL-mod.miz
ED Team NineLine Posted May 10, 2022 ED Team Share Posted May 10, 2022 Ok, I looked at that as well, I still think its more about timing, the Hornets are getting to the Refueling task before the Tanker is ready, I moved them farther out and the same heading and it was fine. I will ask our AI guy if its something he can address, but I think for best ME practice, make sure the Tanker is on station before the Hornets get to their refueling point. I would like to think the Hornets would orbit if the Tanker is expected, the weird slow down and fall out of the sky doesn't seem ideal 1 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
ED Team NineLine Posted May 11, 2022 ED Team Share Posted May 11, 2022 Welp, just like that, it is fixed internally We should see a fix for this in the next patch, then you can have the timing not be so perfect and not see it raining Hornets. Badass1982
I've been having issues with this too, I'm running a MOOSE Airwing/Auftrag script and it appears when the hornets I have set to go escort (or AAR) from a tanker they do the same thing and fall like a rock into the ocean (even WITH full AB on) they also pull ridiculous alpha, I have yet to try using other units but that's the next step. Pilot seems to start having issues and pulling into a stall around 20secs into the video and at mission time 8:13:36 the unit that crashed is: Fighters1_AID-2 Call-sign UZI14. This happens ever time I run the mission, but It varies as to which unit dies. server-20220510-204555.trk

Curious if this issue is known to affect other air-frames too?? I just swapped my hornets for F16's and they did the same thing.
ED Team NineLine Posted May 12, 2022 ED Team Share Posted May 12, 2022 Its possible it is an AI thing, but I will confirm the fix fixed all. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Lau
@NineLine Problem is back: F18C unable to come out of a stall even with burners. The stall mainly happens when trying to intercept tankers for AAR. It does not matter how much energy you will give the AI F18C prior to the maneuver, it will just deplete all the energy until the crash. This is a mission braker and old problem.
