How close will "our" F4E be to the iranian F4E?

Question is in the title...

I assume the early F4E is gonna be sorta close to the iranian F4E's?

I'd assume somewhat close (but we all know about assumptions).  The reason being the US apparently sold Iran 32 F-4Ds in 1972, 36 F-4Es in 1974, and 12 RF-4Es in 1975.1  I don't know the peculiarities of the export models compared to the US models, but HB indicated that the "early" F-4E will be: "a “classic era” F-4E (blocks 36-45 with updates retrofitted in 1974 and before, including new slats, DSCG and AGM-65) ."2  This is right around the same time as when Iran received theirs through the FMS program.  So, there might be some differences, but I'd assume they'd be more similar than different, akin to the F-14As sold to Iran compared to their USN counterparts of the same era.

Yeah I'm curious really. There were reports of Iranian F4E's using mavericks, so I think that 74 version could be close, but if anyone actually knows more I'd like to hear it. I.e. were they slatted, and maybe other differences.

Mavericks were definitely common for the IRIAF:

Some aircraft also appear to have TISEO

And this one has slats

So at a glance, I guess HB's variant should be relatively close to an Iranian aircraft?

The attached image is probably just a high-level summary but it appears to show that the slatted F-4E's were delivered to Iran at the latest in 1972. The square that shows F-4E's delivered to Iran from 1969 to March 1971 would probably be the only of the three shown deliveries that would not have slats.

I wonder if the iranains could have also modified their non-slatted ones to slatted ones at some point.
