The Ultimate DCS Experience

Hi everyone,
A few days ago, I caught myself thinking about what could DCS look like in 10 years,
I won't be talking too much about new modules here (even though I hope we'll have some DCS:Gripen and DCS:Rafale by then, with more Redfor modules as well)

Here's what I have in mind : with the Dynamic Campaign module coming and the Whole-World Technology confirmed to be worked on, imagine a permanent whole world server with two or more factions fighting, with a dynamic frontline.

We could have the following features

     - Factions : it could be the usual Blue vs Red or US vs Europe vs Russia/China, etc...

     - Dynamic Campaign features : AI units would fill up the world (since even 2000 players split across the entire world map wouldn't be enough)

     - Ground/Sea Modules : These are already been confirmed so it would make sense to have them

     - Logistics : We could imagine transport planes (I see you C-130...) carrying stuff from bases to bases preventing them to run out of ammo

     - Recon : This would be my favorite feature, enemy units would not show up on the F10 map unless spotted by players (we could imagine recon modules like the bronco or U-2/SR-71 modules, or even drones), it would be fun to fly over an enemy base, spot a unit and have a drop down menu where you have to manually choose which unit it is, so it can show up on other players map, so they can plan their mission accordingly

This is just the basics of what I have in mind, and this will probably never see the light of day, but I wanted to know if anyone would be interested in seeing something like this one day.

Tell me what else you would want if we ever get something close to this (AWACS module ? SAR ?) possibilities are endless and have such a large scale battlefield could allow new roles we don't have in DCS yet to be added

What you’re asking for is already available now. Check out the dynamic war servers like DDCS and Blue Flag.

Sold!

That would be too funny and too much fun.

Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

Now, how do we cold start the Saturn V rocket? First, contact ground crew for external power...

Actually, that's why the hard-core sim crew will raise a fuss and nix the idea of a Saturn V module: Bad precedent: Neil and the other sissies went into a hot cockpit instead of cold-starting their rocket as god had wanted men to do. Neil entered the capsule less than 2h40m before launch, so that qualifies as a hot start. No self-respecting DCS-blood will go for that. Anything less than the already suspect T-3:30 is practically amateur hour stuff.

🙂
