Throttle quadrant test by the book doesn't work

Recommended Posts

Doing a cold start on ramp, I am following the shore based procedures as printed on the manual, beginning on page 280.

Step 5 is the Throttle quadrant test...Screenshot_6.jpg

Described flow doesn't work, as

1. the JPTL caution light already comes up in the LTS TEST of step 2.

2. the switch doesn't disengage

3. there is no audible caution

JPTL light remains on. JPTL switch remains on.

any ideas?

  • Rongor changed the title to Throttle quadrant test by the book doesn't work

So as I understand it, the limiter on the AV8B is turned off when the throttle is pushed forward to the max (there is a sort of soft/elastic detente which requires a certain forward pressure to trip).

This is (currently) not simulated but depending on your throttle you can replicate it.

I have a Virpil with a physical afterburner detente that I don’t use on the AV8B. So my throttle goes to max when I hit the detente, but I also assigned that region of the throttle just past the detente (via a virtual button) to JPTL off switch. Just one way of doing it.
