if you have the funds the varjo aero is really where it's at, I've owned/tried most of the options out there in one form or fashion and the aero currently doesn't really have any competition in my opinion.

I'm sure you could get away with one if you really wanted to but 2x is the prescribed number for sure, I was coming from and index so I already had them, supposedly pimax has had them in stock a bit more than the steam store.

using openxr toolkit with a little bit of FSR enabled I get excellent performance at native rez, better than I had with the index supersampled (average 40-60 fps with my i9/3090 system)

What about the Pimax 8K Plus?

I bought one of those last black friday, used it for 2 days and returned it and ordered an aero.

Really hated the pimax, super uncomfortable, felt very cheap and poorly engineered, didn't look that must better than my index, terrible chinesium software. Really bad experience all around I do not recommend pimax but some people love them of course.

IMHO currently best upgrade from Reverb G2 would be Vive Pro 2. Unless wanted to swing the bucks for the Aero.

Yep, I agree. My VP2 is a definite step forward from my G2.
