reported Black screen at South Atlantic airport

Set myself to spawn on the runway at Rio Gallegos, loaded in just fine, as soon as I clicked fly the screen was pitch black when I was staring straight forward, but moving my view around (TrackIR) allowed me to look around.

I'm getting the same. Black screen when I'm on the runway or taxing. So far it has happened at Rio Grande and at Ushuaia. When I move my head with trackIR, the black screen flickers, etc.

It happens to me also over Port Stanley, no matter what plane I am in, there are black screens on both 2D and in VR. Video:

Getting this as well (black flickering squares or flickering black half screen).  I've flown around East & West Falkland so far and while this issue occurs over all areas I have flown so far, it does seem to happen more frequently near Stanley & Mt Pleasant.  Yet to see if it is an issue in Argentina or Chile.

this is a know issue with ED, not limited to the SA map but happens more on our map. ED are looking into this

If you turn off your mirrors this will disappear until ED fix it

Mirrors Bug.

If I turn on the mirrors (by M button) in the cockpit F14, 15, Su27, then the screen turns black. If I turn off the mirrors, the image appears.
There is no such bug either in the Mariana Islands, or in Syria, or in Dubai. Only in the Falklands near to numerous objects on the ground.

Just tested this, it doesn't fix SHKVAL render bug.  Mirrors on or off did not make it go away.  It appears only when looking at specific areas and I am only getting it on the South Atlantic map. 

Here's a quick vid of what the SHKVAL is doing, toggled mirrors on and off, with no effect.

No black screens with TrackIR and F-14B.

With Hind I have black flickering screens on the left half of my screen. 

My Buddy in the Viggen has the same problem.

A4E-C mod, black screen on leaving hangar, except for when looking about 60 deg left or right. No black screen in F2 view. Upon takeoff, gaining altitude, black screen recesses so you can look closer angle over time to middle of gunsight until you only have flickering looking straight forward. Then stops, forget at what altitude. Samsung odyssey 2 vr. 

No black screen and flickering in MiG-15bis. However, some kind of tearing landing at southernmost airport don't remember name. Massive performance drop and when you look side to side everything jitters with the camera for a split second.

I got same black out over Stanley in the A4 mod and the Harrier… I use TrackIR.  
 

I have also seen some black flickering when flying over the islands but it is not as pronounced as it is over Stanley.

I experienced this in the A-4E when flying around Rio Grande yesterday. Depending on the altitude and direction I either got black overlays on the screen or the entire screen went black. Using TrackIR I had to loock below the gunsight in order to avoid the black screens, which is rather awkward to fly like this. Mirrors were turned on.

I remember having experienced this issue extremely rarely in other aircraft on other maps in the past (and a bit more often on the A-10C TGP), but never as exessive as it was yesterday.

+1 (with the F-18) @ Mount Pleassant (happens only when looking in a certain direction). It´s the most extreme example of this bug I have experienced so far, completely blacking out the screen at most times when it occurs.

I use Track IR. I got uge Black screen BOX when I turn my head to the left or to the right. It seems ok when I look straight ahead, but it's sometimes very narrow.

That happens yesterday when I landed at Rio Galleigo in an F18, but it happened too many times at Ushuaia.

I'm seeing a similar thing, at least in the Hind. Though oddly, it doesn't cover my whole screen. But depending how frequently it appears, it can make it unplayable.

It's also only present when in the cockpit, external views seem to be okay.

this is not a bug specific to the South Atlantic terrain. 

It is reported to the team but is a challenging bug. 

If you have mirrors enabled try disabling them to see if it helps

I did some more testing.  I have ensured mirrors are off and have a video for you.  Maybe this will help with troubleshooting this problem. 

Also, try as I might, I can not get this to duplicate anywhere but the South Atlantic map.  I'll keep trying though.

Even on other maps, sometimes the screen goes black for a short time, this just happens more often on the south atlantic map. Glad to hear ED is working on this! First I thought my VR Headset is broken!

Setting up to sortie from Rio Gallegos airport using the Community A-4  and RAZBAM M-2000 and both aircraft show a black screen when I lower the canopy. Screenshots attached.

By moving the pilot head position (cockpit camera) forwards the black section disappears. Moving head position backwards again shows the black section. 

Tested same aircraft at all the other South Atlantic airports and it is only Rio Gallegos where this defect occurs.
