Don't hide password protected slots!

Why would one hide passworded aircraft slots? After all it would allow players to see at which airfields other players with passwords would spawn in which aircraft, which players seriously need for their situational awareness. And it also makes the players see which squadrons have special slots and how many payed slots there are (patreon as example).

PvP: 100+ manual player-kills with Stingers on a well known dynamic campaign server - 100+ VTOL FARP landings & 125+ hours AV-8B, F-14 crew, royal dutch airforce F-16C - PvP campaigns since 2013

DCS server-admins: please adhere to a common sense gaming industry policy as most server admins throughout the industry do. (After all there's enough hostility on the internet already which really doesn't help anyone. Thanks.)

Because if you don't have the password, they're just useless spam in a slot list that already shows more than is strictly necessary or useful.

In addition, the more you can hide information from other players — especially other coalitions — the better.

Imagine for a second that you're doing a campaign set in the early to mid Cold War, a time when intel on anything was sketchy at best. The F-10 map is set up to only show your allies, and not your enemies. You decide you want to be Blue Force, and you put in the Blue Force Password. Now you only see the Blue Force jets available, and you spawn. You don't know what the enemy has, and so you take off on a patrol. A random player forms up on you in another Blue Jet, and you head out.

Suddenly, this feels pretty realistic, you're now looking for possible enemies, never knowing what you're going to encounter. Suddenly, someone logs into LOTATC, and into the SRS server, dials in your radio frequency, and starts talking to you. Now you really are feeling the immersion. You have a wingman, you have a real patrol, and now you also have GCI talking to you.... but then the subject of the conversation changes. Bogies approaching the border. Your GCI can't tell you what they are, all he sees are blips on a radar screen. He knows they're probably hostiles, since they're coming from the other side of the border.... the red side of the border. Now you get the full experience. You have no way to know what you're about to merge with, your wingman opens up the distance between you both, and you are now in a combat spread. As you close the distance, your AI RIO (we'll assume this is post Phantom launch) manages to get a radar lock on the unknowns, but your ROE says you can't shoot until they're identified....

Just imagine yourself in that scenario. Imagine how tense it'll feel... Yes, it's nice to know what you're up against... but sometimes... not knowing makes the whole experience just that much more thrilling.

Yes that'd be a very interesting experience indeed. Do you know of any servers with such server settings though, with team passwords, by chance?

Oh, and what about score-chart. Then server owners would also need a way to disable any player-name and aircraft to show up there.

I don't know of any off hand, but, my group does use the PPS for some 'Game Master' Slots, that way people don't jump into slots they aren't supposed to, and have access to things they aren't supposed to.

DDCS has that disabled. Although you can still see who all the players are on the role selection screen. So I’m not sure what good that does.

Oh, so there was or is no multiplayer bug currently where only player names can be seen in the chart but nothing else? Should be made more obvious, like a notification there "scores disabled by server host".
