Steam or native DCS?

Ok, so I'm not really getting how this whole steam or native DCS thing works. I purchased all the DCS content I have so far from Steam, "don't know if that's good or bad" didn't even know there was a difference at the time. So now I want to purchase some new content like the F14, which is sold on Steam, but the campaigns aren't sold on steam, and say incompatible with steam! So how do you work this scenario? Thanks very much

Wow, thanks Rudel_chw, don't know why the Sandworm campaign wouldn't come up for me!
