almost inoperable?

The JF-17 is a multirole but not a multi mission aircraft. It was made cheap in real life so that if more weapons or more different weapon types are needed more aircraft would been sent. Those limitations are btw real life limitations and not Deka/Eagle Synamics made ones. Anyway, the JF-17 is perfectly suited for pure air to ground or air to air missions.

Do you know anything about the app for the helmet?

The HMD (helmet mounted display) was intruduced with the JF-17 Block 3 version but sadly we have a Block 1 JF-17 with a Block 2 refueling probe in DCS.

ok, thanks for the explanation

It's not really meant to self escort, in real life F16s would do the A2A fighting, but depending on what your target is, its defenses and whether you know its exact location you can bring 4xSD-10, two bombs (Mk83, LS-6 or GB-6) and a centerline fuel tank which should give you serviceable range, decent A2A loadout and you will still be able to hit a target or two. Unless you specifically need laser designation you can try to use A2G radar to find targets of opportunity which admittedly is suboptimal but in DBS2 you can see targets even as small as individual elements of a SAM site

I've gone on 300nm round trip (150 each way) missions with two GB-6, a tpod, and 2xLD-10 (as well as the obligatory 2xPL-5EII) and it's not been a problem really, I flew around 28000ft and used autopilot, kept the RPMs around 90% or so, and stayed in the area for buddy lasing for a good 10 minutes before finally landing with about 1000lbs (liters?) of fuel left. If you watch your AOA and limit your afterburner use, you can be fuel efficient and still carry enough ordinance to make a difference, even for longer ranges. You normally don't need the drop tanks. For longer ranges, I might just use preplanned targets and take the center drop tank. For TOO targets, you can also use the hud targeting, and it's not as precise, but it sometimes is good enough.

If you learn your aircraft, and fly it enough, you can work on becoming more fuel efficient. It's like a marathon at times, and sometimes it's like a 100m dash - learn to identify in which situations you are, and how your aircraft flies best, and you won't be so worried about it.  If there's enemy fighters seen in the area, then yea, carry your SD-10s (you really only need two of them). If you have support, then don't bother, trust your teammates to handle it and tell yourself that your PL-5EII are going to save you (they probably wont but they might). If you're alone against enemy fighters, well then, grab just your two SD-10 (not four) and go take out some enemies, and come back to base and do it again as many times as it takes. The enemy fighters don't want to get into a fight with you because they don't know your strengths or weaknesses (they dont fight too many JF-17) so you can usually avoid a dogfight. If you do happen to get into a dogfight, then try to use your SD-10 if you have enough room to get it off the rails. Otherwise, just drop everything (panic button) and run away has been my strategy. The only thing that has consistently bothered to follow me is the M2000 - but I could usually fly very low and outrun them until they disengage and then quickly turn around and fire a PL-5EII their way.

thanks for the comments, but I think that being able to put the sd10 inside the wings would give many more options, I suppose that in real life they cannot be placed there.
Thank you for the information, it is very useful. Greetings.

It's more of a doctrine/safety limitation. The Thunder is most likely wired to be able to carry and fire those weapons on those stations, but the PAF would rather not risk damaging their frames or engines with rocket smoke and exhaust.
