Any suggestions for an adequate Throttle? F16 or F18?

Hi!

Has somebody worked out which throttle fits the most for the F-14?

WinWing F16 or F18?

I know, 2 Engines so F-18 sounds good, but i think thats not a gamechanger?

So which one is more handy for the Cat?

The Winwing F-18 throttle should be better imo. Good amount of switches and buttons you can use and of course you can do split throttle operations.

I think that left/right throttles can contol left/right engines indiviudally.  If one engine is hit and I can split the control throttle without working on UI, especially in dogflight.

Wouldn't trade my Virpil T-50CM v3 for anything...

I am kinda undeterred in trying this 3d printed DIY. Would be hard to give up all the extra hats though.

For Tomcat definitely want split throttle.  Need it for startup, airstart, spin recovery procedures,  etc

Yeah, I just saw the price on that blueprint. Looks neat, but this doesn't move anything like the Tomcat throttle, IMO this is not worth any money. IRL, the throttles can move side to side, this is unsprung, so one can, for example, select MIL and rest the throttles against the aft AB stop while being launched from the cat. They also have a fair bit more throw. Plus, hats on those designs are all the same old microswitch-based crap. Winwing hats are much better, they have quite a bit of travel, which feels great. Same with buttons, a little more overtravel than I'd have preferred, but otherwise they're awesome. You can buy the kind of button used in real aircraft (OTTO-P1), but hats are absurdly expensive, and I haven't seen a DIY one yet that would simulate them.
