Mikkall Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 (edited) Gonna test but figured I'd get some smart people opinions. So, what can I expect by turning Virtual Memory off? AMD 3950X X570 64G Ram 3080 TI Edited September 10, 2022 by Mikkall
Mars Exulte Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 (edited) Type that question into a search bar, you'll be amazed at the answers it can spit out. But in short, yes, you need it. Slightly longer, because that's how Windows is designed to operate. Even slightly longer, you can disable it, but there is little to no gain, it may or may not cause problems depending on usage, and again, Windows is designed to operate with it. MAXsenna Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 (edited) Depends. DCS seems to really like it. I have never any issues or crashes, (except for GPU OC), and have Windows manage it. My page file is now >21GB, but I have a feeling it's partially due to sometimes having Chrome open with 50+ tabs. I have 32GB of RAM. EDIT: Like Mars wrote. I would never turn it off. Mikkall Posted September 10, 2022 Author Posted September 10, 2022 Well, DCS seemed to do fine without it. Flew maybe 1/2 an hour with no apparent problem. Gonna continue monitoring it and will tick it back on if have any troubles. Maxsenna... I do that 50 tab thing to haha! Not on Chrome though.... friggin Google has enough on me already. 1
