skypirate Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Greets! Does anyone running the game in SLI mode with high end cards e.g. nVidia GTX280? What is the performance you are getting? Do you think adding second card will improve the FPS or it's better to push the CPU with OC? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Regards!
ED Team Groove Posted January 6, 2009 ED Team Posted January 6, 2009 The biggest FPS gain havin a 280GTX already would be a faster CPU and not a second GTX280. Having a big FSB speed helps with FPS too. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
815TooCooL Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Looking at your PC spec, what you need is good CPU-Mobo. You have enough, more than enough VGA for Black Shark and BS is not VGA-demanding software. AMD is quite inferior to Intel in 3d games and BS runs very good in Core2duo systems. Now it is almost 60fps game in medium(with high visibility) @ 1920*1200 thanks to affinity trick in Vista. (Don't forget to set water to medium) Mine is Core2Duo E8500 with 8800GT. System: Core2Duo E8500, 4G ram, GTX260, SLC SSD, and Vista 32bit. LG W2600HP 26" LCD. Controls : MSFFB2, CH Pro throttle, Saitek rudder, Saitek throttle quadrant, and TrackIR4 BS Setting : medium with visibility HIGH More skill you get, more you Love DCS:Black Shark.
Amuro Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Don't think you'll gain anything by adding a second card. Your CPU is gonna be a huge bottleneck for two 280s. (Don't forget to set water to medium) Well what I'm getting now with this spec @ 1400*1050, water-medium and the rest high (+the affinity trick ON) is around 20 FPS during the take offs from busy airport for example and 50-60 FPS during quiet flight over the mountains... Still during battles the FPS are dropping sometimes to 15 which I don't particularly like (this is the time when you need most of your FPSes) I just came into consideration after reading the Tech forums that my MB is overclock friendly and the CPU can eat some more volts so I'll try and we'll see what FPS on top will be the gain. 815TooCooL Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Still during battles the FPS are dropping sometimes to 15 which I don't particularly like (this is the time when you need most of your FPSes) That's when you need good CPU, not VGA. FPS in demanding situation is determined by CPU. When I say 50~60fps, it's about combat situation and over city flying, not quiet flying in mountains. skypirate Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 Right :D Then I guess I'll need either FRYING (current CPU) or BUYING (new one)... Intel you say.... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Regards!

Pilotasso Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 LOMAC doesnt like my SLI setup. It swiches off for LOMAcs profile automaticaly after I play it and reboot the machine. While ingame SLI barely makes any difference, even less when I do not use any filters for visibility reasons. You better off using the money to upgrade CPU. .
