Sinai was release 9th june in standalone version

One year without update...

Exactly. 9th June marks the then infamous one year anniversary of the Sinai map. It also will, as far as I know, mark another historic achievement for a DCS developer. ORT will then be the first and only DCS dev ever who did not manage to add a single line of text to the DCS changelog within an entire year of their product being available on the market. Wow. The icing on the cake is we are still being told by BN to be patient. Honestly, I do not know if I should laugh or cry. Is this satire? I had a lot of patience, patience in abundance. It will run out exactly on 9th June. I will then actively be looking for a refund or a form of compensation. Enough is enough. Sorry for these harsh words but I am literally fuming right now. Thank you.

This is for the Kiowa and some hotfixes.

Next patch at the end of the month would be the target

i love this map, really and honestly even with bug, it's playable. BUT i'm done with all EA product. this and RB problem... done. i will pay only for finish product. that all. ED show us that we can't thrust them for EA product, so.

Hehe...your glass is always half full, right? I wish I had your optimism, draconus. I mean, if ORT manages to provide an update tomorrow, I promise you to commend them here in this very post. Honestly, I think the Sinai map is a diamond in the rough, I really wish ORT would finally deliver. But okay, let's think positively for a moment. I'll take your optimism and hope for tomorrow...man, I really wish you are right.

Same for me. I have a different opinion on ED, though. And let me say something here. DCS is a wonderful sim. Personally, I feel very much at home here. I am around since the days of Flanker 2.0. I saw the bad, I saw the good. But the good outweighs the bad. That´s why I´m still around. And what's going on with ORT is something we've never seen before in DCS. I honestly think we absolutely cannot blame that on ED. But like I said in my above post, there comes a point where I'm done with a particular developer. And I mean really done. And this point will be the 9th June.

For every small update, it is necessary to build the entire project and update must be approved, then users need to download it, this is inconvenient in our opinion.

It may be not convenient for devs but for sure the users would love to download a big update once a few months

Yes, it is but this time the popcorn icon means "let's see".

LOL - normally I'd be with you. Actually I normally joke that the glass isn't half full, nor half empty, but as an engineer the glass is twice as big as it needs to be - a waste of material!

But in this instance - them actually saying "2 weeks:tm:" on the video I think was a very big joke, in that they really are hoping to meet that 2 week deadline. It would certainly be great popularity if they did. The chatter of "A module was actually released in 2 weeks from announcement" would echo for quite some time. Considering that they also plan to release a fully featured, non-early access module - I think they have more chance of meeting their deadline as they would have been polishing the module for longer, and not just trying to get it to an 'early access' release status.

It's one of the few times I find myself quietly confidently optimistic. Of course time will see, but I am definitely hopeful this time round, as more signs seem to be pointing to it being a real possibility than not.

We will [hopefully] see two other updates after Kiowa Release; for DCS: CH-47 Chinook and for DCS: Afghanistan.
Maybe THE first update could be smuggling in one of the updates....

Polychop sure did. And they did a phenomenal job. I am really impressed.

ORT did not, though. Aww man, I really do not want to do that on the 9th...I have no choice, though. Summer 2024 is otherwise really fantastic for DCS, but ORT still did not even provide a timeline...so there is no choice in this case, I guess. It is what it is, sadly.

Man, I am no engineer, I am just a guy who managed to become a pilot despite getting pretty bad grades. And I'm obviously a huge pessimist. But I was right. A lot of us really were. But how do you feel now? ;-D Nah, just kidding, the current situation is anything but fun, so let's hope for the best from now on, right?

I too am known as the pessimist. I just like that 'engineer' saying when people say I'm a glass half empty person. I go, no I'm not... and continue. 😆 You were right - I was confused. I actually came from a polychop thread and thought for a moment we were talking about the OH-58 (hence the 2 weeks remark).

Yes, it's disappointing to see that there's still no updates to this map. I'm not keen about the very long waits between updates, but even though I'm a pessimistic grumpy engineer, I am hopeful for an update to Sinai within the next patch or two that will be significant - a years worth. I really hope so, at least. I could be wrong though. It's not often I switch to the optimistic side. It paid out for the Kiowa, so I'm going to ride this high until I get shot down. 😉   As they say here downunder "avagoodweekend".

Dear friends and pilots. :pilotfly:

Thank you for your patience and support !!!

We continue to work on the 4th final phase of the Sinai project (release), which will include:

  • Airfields for Jordan and UAE, 1 for each country

First of all, thank you very much for the great update!
The fact that Jordan and the UAE are getting an airport is really cool. I think the UAE is too far away to get an airport, but I believe that it will be Saudi Arabia that will get one, not the UAE. Maybe it's a typo or I'm misinterpreting. Thank you very much! I'm looking forward to the update!

I wish some of those buildings (oil platform) ended up as objects in the ME...but it's going to look very, very nice on the map as well.  Really look forward to this!

Another "soon..." update from the devs. I'll believe when I see it and not a second before. This map has been collecting dust for so long. Huge parts of the map is just emptiness while others appear to have random pieces of green fields that does not line up. Looking at the new screenshots of airfields it still shows this in places - it looks very unnatural. The map needs a huge amount of work.

The focus so far appear to have been on the areas around the pyramids. Hope to see more than the city closeups for what is being updated.
