I suggest you:

  1. Update your Windows 10 (it's missing two major updates).
  2. Delete your ".\DCS World\Mods\terrains\PersianGulf" folder, then run a DCS repair (some terrain data might be corrupted, it happened to me once).

Thanks Flappie 😉 I´m sorry for the confussion.

I repaired it following your advice, previous deleting Persian Gulf folder, I will test tonight the same mission. However, I´m quite opposite to updae W10 if it is not aboluteley mandatory, all my games & other program work without issues, so I don´t believe that W10 version is the cause. If some works, better not touch in!

My 2.8 crashes appear to be related to the same .dll

I am running NO mods, and used a vanilla .savedgames folder.  I consistently get crashes in single player or multiplayer 😞 since 2.8

Hello everyone.

Try to repair some corrupted windows files with this :

1) -in the search Bar type "cmd" and execute in administrator

2) -write "sfc/scannow" and hit enter. Wait the end of process before close the window

= There is 4 résults for this test
          1) -no damaged files and system is ok
          2) -Windows failed to perform the requested operation
          3) -Windows found damaged files and was able to repair them
          4) -Windows found damaged files, but couldn't fix them all

If you are in the situation 1, 2, 4 i can't do anything more

If you are in the situation 3. Restart Computer and try to Fly DCS

This solution is just a way to try fixing that crashes and it's not the ultimate fix.

Report if this work for you.

Fly safe buddies

While it fixed a couple of damaged files it didn't stop the crashing in 2.8

I am now getting constant crashes.... done full repair.  Changes page file settings.  Running I9 processor, RTX 3080 GPU  and 64Gb RAM.  Never had crashes before!! 😞

However, it only appears like its multiplayer servers that I get CTD.  Single player I'm OK with.

I don't know what to do at this point. Please open a support ticket: log in to DCS website, click "Support", then "Create a new ticket".

I don´t know why I have to open a ticket, the problem is not my PC. I have another time the same error at the same exact point in the same mission (other missions plays perfect). Maybe its a A-10 module related, maybe the mission itself, maybe 2.8 version... i don´t know. I just want a fix because I pay for the campaign, not to be a betatester. Please @Ed fix it.

Attached the new logs

Not sure, I don't know what to look for in the crash logs to see if they are the same. I only fly the A10C II currently and these are the last two crash logs I got tonight.

It is much more stable than before the patch but it still is crashing. Interestingly a frind who flys the F16 as well as the A10C II says he hasn't had any crashes while flying the F16 but if he changes to the A10C II even on the same map / server he will crash.

Anyway here are the two crash logs from today

Cheers QuozL

I have the same logs and crashes with the A-10C II, but in other missions, in PG Map. I attach the latest one. I openned a ticket also. It seems to me that there is some 2.8 bug with the A-10C II.

Yep still crashing when using the A-10C II these are my last couple of crash logs from the past few days. Seems I can get a mission in then get killed and start loadout / startup again and it will crash when going to the F10 map or while waiting on startup procedure to finish.

Had another CTD tonight after dying in the A-10 C II on my first run and then while doing a cold plane start and at the same time getting the ground crew to reload new weapons loadout it crashed when going into F10 map to grab some co-ordinates.

After restarting I started another mission, killed a few sam sites then got killed again. This time like before I did the cold start procdure (windows key / home) and then left the plane to do it's thing without doing anything else until it got to the Loading finished Plane ready for flight msg. I then did my weapon reload and grabbed coords I needed from the map and this time it didn't crash and I was able to keep playing.

I'll try again today and see if that works again but it's something to try if you're doing cold starts just let the startup procedure finish before you do any other changes and see if that stops the crash.

Have attached the crash files from tonights sessions in the hope they are being looked at by someone who can fix this.

Cheers Quoz

Sounds to me like a A-10-C module problem rather than something system wide.

Every post above mentions it. Just sayin'.....
