Rogue Trooper
The Virpil Apache collective looks fantastic. The Apache collective looks incredibly long in real life so I am not so concerned about the bog standard base collective being used. But I would expect the full resolution of the magnectic sensor to be utilised within or close to the Apache's actual physical movement. My Wallet is prewarned and spooled for action.... a day one pre-order right here.... my first and hopefully not my last Virpil product. My dream has come true!... The KA-50 II will love this collective. Edited April 6, 2023 by Rogue Trooper HP G2 Reverb, Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate as standard. Floyd1212
If you are referring to this one, be advised you might need additional weights. I purchased that balance kit for my Virpil collective (with an Alpha grip on it), and the optional weights are barely enough to balance it on the furthest hole. I already read everyone else's problems with the weights. It is fine for me, I just need a well built counter balance system which this does offer. 1 hour ago, corbu1 said: Yep, my wallet is prepared as well for the Virpil Apache collective! I think the KU will be the ultimate test whether it is possible to use it in VR. But without doubt, the solid and stiff actuation of button in the total control units is 3 dimensional positional awareness in its self. It drives me nuts finding measurements for the Apache pilot station and at a later date the CPG station. Cyborg71
My greatest concern will be the "swing" at the business end of the grips. I use the virpil ka50 collective. It's a great peripheral. But even with the smallest cam installed the movement action from bottom to top is already enormous. (For me anyway) With the extra length of the apache collective, the swing will be gigantic. I'm all for granularity in control feedback, but pumping your left arm up and down by inches rather than mm will feel unrealistic. I hope they have some plan to deal with this (even smaller cam maybe) and the additional weight.
Grievo
The obvious next question is... Will they do a cyclic grip? i7-9700F, 32Gb RAM, RTX 2080 Super, HP Reverb G2.
