Consistent, reproducible elctrical/MC failures with no obvious explanation

So I have this practice mission I made where I intercept an IL-76. Recently I started learning the F-18 and added the aircraft to this mission. There are no threats present in this mission and I've tested it with and without any mods installed.

I've now flown the mission at least 10 times using the F-18 and have had a myriad of electrical and MC failures each and every time. These failures occur at different times during the mission but they always crop up in some form. Sometimes the MC will even fail during aircraft setup. I've tried different loadouts, flying different, all kinds of stuff and they seem to occur for no reason at all.

Researching this problem has turned up nothing really useful and I guess people who reported stuff like this in the past didn't have any tracks or logs or whatever. Well, heres two, the first one is with Civilian Aircraft Mod enabled, and the second track/log is with no mods enabled. Tracks are too large so heres a link.

Any thoughts?

Hi

at some point failures have been enabled in the mission.

If you open the mission with a archive tool like 7zip and look at the mission file you can see they are listed at the bottom.

thanks

Well that's interesting... The thing is though that this is the only aircraft affected by this mission and if I view mission options in the mission editor, 'Random System Failures' is unchecked. Additionally, I checked my global game settings and 'Random System Failures' is disabled there as well. I will try force disabling failures in the mission options to see if that does it.

Ok I replayed the mission ' Random System Failures' explicitly disabled in mission options. Same basic behavior. It seems like if failures really are enabled in the miz file then there seems to be no way I would know about it or be able to do anything about it without manually editing the mission file. Also I should note, this is the only mission that exhibits this problem. Did the mission file get borked somehow at some point? Why isn't the mission editor able to see the failure settings if they are present in the mission file? Why are the other client aircraft in the mission immune to the failures? Just some thoughts. I've attached the last track file just in case.

@Dragon1-1 I don't see any options related to failures for this specific aircraft in either the mission editor or the modules' settings page. Are you thinking of something in particular?

It could be ONLY the specific client aircraft that you are flying in the mission that has somehow ended up with failures enabled.  If you go into the mission in the mission editor and look at THAT specific aircraft it could be that it has failures enabled.  It's near right side of the icons at the bottom.

I know of someone who also had this. He said he did not enable random failures, but when we were flying his mission, everyone eventually had a broken aircraft.

Again, click on the aircraft and check the scripted failures tab. There might be something there.

It's empty. Or can you see something set in the mission he posted?

Is there a way to remove the failures from a mission even when failures are disabled for the user, forced to off in the mission settings and nothing in the failure tab of the aircraft?

It's already the third time i've seen this happening.

In this circumstance it may just be easier to edit the failures out by opening the MIZ in a archive tool and manually deleting the failures using notepad++ in the mission file.

Feel free to send me the mission file in a DM and I will take a look.

thanks

edit:

please try this weird_failures3.miz

@BIGNEWYYeah so I manually opened and checked all my MIZ files and it turns out there is a randomly generated set of failures in all the missions I created using the mission editor for some reason. As for why I'm only noticing now with this aircraft.. I dont know I can only assume these failures are for aircraft I don't normally fly and the F-18 is the first aircraft affected. In any case I will edit my mission files manually I suppose and hope for a better solution in the future. Thanks!

@Dragon1-1Ah okay yeah that's what I thought. Yeah no everything is empty in there.
