Hi all,

Thanks for the help on my other questions.

I have the 2.7 version of DCS as thought single player would be a good start, but looking in the website it says that that the 2.8 open beta is best for multiplayer.

My question is do I have to completely remove the 2.7 and instal 2.8 or do I just download the 2.8 and with both situations will I have to reinstall the helicopter mods I've got?

Many thanks all hope to see you out there 😊

It says that only because the majority of DCS Servers are on Open Beta, not needed if the servers you plan to use are on Stable.

Neither, you can convert your current DCS to openbeta with this procedure:

1. Open a Command Prompt in admin mode

2. Change to the DCS /bin folder

3. Run the command:

DCS_Updater update @openbeta

No, since those Mods are probably installed at /Saved Games/ and not at the DCS program folder ... HOWEVER, it is very possible that updating DCS to a new version can broke a User Mod, even to the point that DCS may crash when starting ... so, it is good practice to disable all your User Mods prior to updating (you use a Mod Manager, right?  🙂  )

This way you can test your new version of DCS and once certain that it works fine, only then re-enable your user Mods.
