zcrazyx Posted January 23, 2023 Share Posted January 23, 2023 Thought I'd post as i'm curious if we might get a Fleet Air Arm Corsair in the future, essentially a modified F4U-1D with clipped wings and a stall strip along one of the wings to help cure the stall behaviour at low speeds. Not sure what other equipment was changed, fitted or removed other then those two things. Krupi Posted January 23, 2023 Share Posted January 23, 2023 (edited) Having recently looked into this myself I found that the clipped wings was only the start of the modifications required to produce a Corsair II/IV. Clipped Wing Modified Cockpit equipment (Radio, Pilot Harness… etc) Vents on the fuselage for carbon monoxide(?) removal as they were concerned that the exhaust pipe were too flush with the fuselage I would love to see additional types added at some point.
