Riddick
After starting and warming up the engine in -12°C frost, I was able to fly over 250 km with all the heaters and lights on. At the same time, the generator was turned off all the time, but the battery did not run out, even after an emergency landing (out of fuel). razo+r
What exactly are you trying to say? That it takes too long to deplete the battery or that you would expect the engine, which provides the energy for the ignition itself, to die if it ran out of battery? Riddick
Тhe lighting and navigation lights continued to glow. Didn't they shine for too long, given that in the cold, the charge given off by the battery decreases?
razo+r
The battery is basically located in the cockpit, so if the pilot turns on the heating, then the battery is not exposed to the cold anymore. But I highly doubt that DCS simulates increased discharge depending on battery temperature.
Riddick
So how long will the battery be able to feed all the consumers of electricity that are on, without a generator? I'll try to fly longer until battery runs out. Edited March 4, 2023 by Riddick
Riddick
I think I found what I was looking for. And everything seems to be fine. After the flight and a normal landing at the airport, it turned out that the battery was almost discharged. The radio didn't work until I turned on the generator. The brightness of the cabin lighting depended on the engine speed. However, the brightness of the landing light did not depend on engine speed. Maybe that's how it should be? It is difficult to test such games, it can be difficult to understand where the error is, and where you don’t understand something. By the way, ground personnel do not repair a completely dead battery. I think it is bug. Edited March 4, 2023 by Riddick

You should be able to drain the battery if you turn any electrical consumers on while having the engine off or, I'm not sure anymore if there is a switch to turn the alternator on/off.
Solution Flappie Posted March 25, 2023 Solution Share Posted March 25, 2023 Thanks. It took one hour and a half to empty the battery. Bug reproduced and reported. 2 Don't accept indie game testing requests from friends in Discord. Ever.

jaylw314
Modern Pb acid batteries have capacities at 24V of about 15-25 amp hours. The nav lights might have a current draw of 5-10 amps or so, and same with the landing light, so an hour or two of battery time wouldn't be far off. Not sure about the draw from other electrical stuff, though.
