FalcoGer
The video output of the TADS is very blurry, but only in the multi threaded branch. Also it's both blurry in FLIR as well as TV, so it isn't just a FLIR thing. Settings Blurry MT Normal ST Edited March 10 by FalcoGer
JSpidey
Same here in VR. My guess is they did it to increase performance?
FalcoGer
Just now, JSpidey said: Same here in VR. My guess is they did it to increase performance? There shouldn't be any differences on how things look between MT and ST. And as far as I know, other modules are not affected, or at least that's what I've been told. If you want increased performance from degraded graphics, you change the settings. Edited March 10 by FalcoGer
firefox121
Think is due to the cockpit displays resolution option at the main config menu, try 1024 a 1024 each frame to see if it solves the issue Intel i9 10850k - MSI Tomahawk 490z - 64 GB DDR4 3000 - HP Reverb G2 - MSI optix Mag321curv 4k monitor - MSI RTX 3080ti - Winwing Orion Throttle base plus F18 stick

Floyd1212
Yes, the same loss in quality also seems to impact the PNVS image on the IHADSS.
JSpidey
I feel like this is ED's way of increasing performance in the MT build however, they should put these as a setting so players can choose whether or not they want it.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 16 ED Team Share Posted March 16 this is reported, it seems the difference is more noticeable when you are using res of cockpit displays at 512, switching to 1024 will help thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? ED Team Lord Vader Posted March 17 ED Team Share Posted March 17 Hi @FalcoGer and everyone else seeing this blur effect. This is a consequence of a design feature related to MFDs and how they are shown in the multithread build of DCS. For now at least, like @BIGNEWYsaid, it is recomended you use 1024 resolution for the MFDs if you feel the TADS or any other MFD is too blurry. This may change in the future with new graphical options or some other improvements. Thank you for understanding. 1 Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord

Floyd1212
Can you clarify that ED intends to improve the quality of these displays in the future, or is this a design decision that ED has implemented and is satisfied with the current render quality?

FalcoGer
If i set the resolution to 1024, the framerate tanks super hard from 30 (playable) to 12 (can just about manage to stay in the air). So I guess I'll have to live with blurry images for now.

I always use 1024 resolution, after the update it looks like 256, why such a downgrade? Later it will turn out that these additional options take so many frames that we will be at the starting point, on MT we will have as much frame as now on ST EDIT: We have better quality picture on Ka-50 Shkval, and SU-25T Sensors than AH-64D sensors, and You guys mark thread as "correct as is"?
