Spitfire Pilot Body is too small compared to the American Pilots

The scale of the Pilots body for the Spitfire is not in line with the the American Pilots.  The Spitfire Pilot is considerably shorter, does this mean that the Plane scales are off as well?

I did a comparison of the UK, US and GER pilot bodies and it shows that the tallest is the US, then the UK and the shortest is the GER. Also, when both the UK and GER pilots bail out and land they are shown to have their parachute packs full while the US pilot has an opened parachute pack. I separately had each pilot bail out over Hawkinge and then walked the pilot to a specific Nissan Hut to get a comparison screenshot. It is clear that the height order is US - UK - GER. For some reason I could not zoom in on the GER pilot as much as I could with the other two pilots.

😁 Lucky shots or unlucky shots... May not need to hit the pilot at all.

I was kidding but I remember reading about Douglas Bader, there was something to be said about him being able to put up with more G after he lost the legs. I'm sure there's some sensible data to prove or disprove it. Sounds plausable.

I dont think its that bad, I mean obviously the US pilot grew up on a farm somewhere in the midwest, and the Brit and German pilot are world famous jokey's

the situation is amusing but also demeaning and frustrating.

I really do not think the size difference would impact combat much, for 1 the pilots are seated, and 2 the hitboxes are slightly different than the actual models anyways. I cant imagine and have not seen anything that would lead me to believe the US pilot is taking more bullets.

No way that US pilot would fit in spitfire 😛

Interesting story, our owner Nick Grey has not flown a 109 due to his size, he is rather tall and would not fit well in the cockpit. He does fly plenty of Spitfires though.

🤣 Have to say, the Brit looks more of a cheery chap. Can't blame him, Jerry has some dodgy clobber on him.

Get him to try driving a Willys, he'll give himself black eyes with his kneecaps.

it would have to be seen if sitting inside their respective cockpits they are proportionate. Definitely not a pretty situation to see, since the release of the Apache the F-15 the 3D models of the pilots have improved, except for the Hornet and Viper which are horrendous. Even if you eject from the Hornet, the pilot transforms into that of the A-10. Let's say that whoever takes care of this aspect in 3D doesn't really work well. In an equal Sim of WW2 the textures are excellent and even in multiplayer you can use the language of gestures between the various pilots.

I have asked the team if it needs to be looked at, or if the P-51D or the pilot model are scheduled for re-do, the P-51D is quite old now.

Since we know there is a cockpit revamp for the spitfire, I hope the pilot model will get an update too.

Looking at the pilot model for the upcoming F15 or the one already on harrier. Makes the ww2 models seems a bit long in the teeth.

Taller than the rest of humans, also don't need to breath pure oxigen at high altitudes due there's no mask modeled in his 3D model,....gotcha!!!

Mustang pilot has to be an alien sent to study and spy the mankind for an ulterior invasion. That could be the plot of any old TV series like X-files, but the only old thing here is the unchecked/ not fixed bug reports.

Definetly should be the right answer.... an alien... otherwise nobody can explain ten years of service breathing poor oxigenated air for more than 2 ETOPS Tours at 35,000 feet and smoking luckies like a mate raised in the midwest of the 30's... He's really out of this (DCS)world...

This would fall under the model being older and needing updated, including the pilot model, so its known.

so its known

I perfectly know it's known,  the core question is: for how many time is it going to be stored in the queue? Viper's rudder movement animation issue was solved in less than 15 days from the YT video release til the patch release. 🤔

So you compare this to the recreation of an entire model, including pilot model? I think the time it takes might be a bit longer, especially with other models in line as well. Soon as I have some info to share, we will share.

Categorically NO I was NOT comparing anything.

I was just only sharing with you a recent example of ED going really fast fixing visual animations when the situation is enough "worrying"  (sorry for using an inaccurate word as "soon") to "you". There's nothing from WW2 era accuratelly recreated in mustang pilot model, from his midwest oversize, going thru his clothes and finishing with his oxigen mask...or lack of it. The only comparison I did: Mustang pilot versus an alien. Sorry if you don't like it, but I don't like How long is been taking some visual inaccuracies/bugs fixes.

Just last question: Is "Soon" an alien invented unit of time equivalent to, at least,  five earth years? Truth is out there... right behind to a chemtrail.

I said soon as I have some I will share, I didn't say I would have some soon. Sorry.

Lord grant us patience... But hurry eh? 🙂.

I expect some things are higher or lower on the priorities list. It's no short order keeping us all happy. Ba dum tsh...

Some things may be easier to achieve than others. We aint doing too bad, we can fly, albeit as a shortass or a beanpole without O2, but we can fly. :pilotfly:
