MT beta does not launch in VR for Index when enabled

In Version 2.8.4.39313, when I try to launch the MT.exe with "--force_enable_VR --force_steam_VR" it launches the game in a desktop window and does not hook into SteamVR.  Swapping --force_steam_VR for --force_OpenXR doesn't help. I've done a clean and repair to no effect.

I see in the log file that there's some error with OpenXR, but from what I understand, SteamVR has supported OpenXR for a while now.

As far as I know, MT and SteamVR doesn't work in that kind of way. I had to enable the OpenXR API (developer button) in SteamVR to get the SteamVR interface and all the stuff. But that's weeks ago. Perhaps that will fix your problem.

Correct, openVR is not currently supported. 

OpenXR is supported natively

I completely uninstalled and reinstalled both SteamVR and DCS World. Now it works! This line changed in the log file so it's hooking into the correct runtime.
