Can I use both the throttle and keyboard to control Pitch?

Hi,

I am trying to add a very basic 'Terrain following' feature to my plugin.
I a m already controlling all the cockpit commands.

The problem I have is to control the trim. When a joystick is not plugged in, the pitch is controlled with the keyboard.
When I plug in my joystick the keyboard has no control.
Can enable pitch keyboard control when the stick is plugged in?
