Tank thread

Tanks are highly specialised weapons, extremely potent when properly applied. Of course, let's not forget that a combat engineer with a shovel, a pool of muddy water, or even a steep hill can also have their way with them at times!

Well, it seems like US Army is finally closing the gap to that T-80s long range attack power:

Can it be use effectively against helicopters?

This self-guiding XM1111 Mid-Range Munition is yet to be aproved for serial production (is it possible for it to make a 180degree turn and ... "Incomiiiing :joystick: "). And it is expected for the T-95 to have 135mm or 152mm gun and able to fire missiles at distances of 7km or more, so he`s going to have the edge on the western tanks. And as for the Leo 2a6, man germans allways knew how to make the best tanks: check out this beauty: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Leo2pso_009.jpg

Unfortunately americans should have cooperated more seriously with germans when making M1A1 cause the only good thing about it is its Rheinmetall 120 mm gun.

Man that Oliphant looks huge compared to the T-80. Check out the low profile the "T" has. And how slim the turret is.

In actual fact that is why it was so successful against the T-55s and T-60s during the Angolan Civil war because the t's couldn't see over the thick african bushveld while the Olifant could which resulted in a better sighting of the target and thus a better kill rate, in fact off hand I dont know of any olifants lost to enemy tanks.

I don't know the name of this hybrid but this single prototype was create in India.

Also I don't know name and purpose this device behind Merkavas or mounted on the tank turret on the picture below.
