YoYo Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Hi, honestly I never thought about it, but does this option also matter in relation to the resolution of the A2G radar image (e.g. more clear objects on zoom .67 in SE)? What do you think? 1 Webmaster of http://www.yoyosims.pl Win 10 64, i9-13900 KF, RTX 4090 24Gb OC, RAM 64Gb Corsair Vengeance LED OC@3600MHz,, 3xSSD+3xSSD M.2 NVMe, Predator XB271HU res.2560x1440 27'' G-sync, Sound Blaster Z + 5.1, TiR5, [MSFS, P3Dv5, DCS, RoF, Condor2, IL-2 CoD/BoX] VR fly only: Meta Quest Pro
Insanatrix Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Hardly ever use the A2G radar unless it's extremely cloudy but I don't see why it wouldn't affect it to some degree. I've honestly never tested it though and I usually use just 1024, not every frame. It's expensive and doesn't really look any better. I think every frame option is for exporting to MFD's or external displays and it comes with a performance hit.
Galinette Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 No, it doesn't. This setting impacts 3D rendered stuff like TGPs and moving maps, not the A2G radar. It has its own built in resolution. 2

Ok, a little pity ;), small targets are hard to spot (like cars, tanks etc) even on max zoom of HRM, sametimes the noise from the ground is too big to find a difference. Sent from my XQ-AT52 using Tapatalk I could not test it for the Eagle but while screwing around with the JF-17 AG Radar, it seemed that some ground units (like, Scud Launcher) do not have any radar return at all. I don’t know if this also applies to the eagle. Edit: Thats what I am talking about: Edited August 6, 2023 by BigBorner 1

This was carefully adjusted from SME feedback. Making it better would be cheating! 2
