BongPow3r Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Hello, I got DCS since yesterday. Well, I want to start on the ground in simulation mode for a free flight, but I don't know where I can do that. If I use the training and press the esc button and the left thing then I ever hear the guy speaking and that makes no fun :P Do u have a mission or something else where I can start a free flight on the ground? Does someone has tutorials for starting on the ground? (because the training is too fast for me) Greetings bongpow3r
EtherealN Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Open the mission editor. Select the helicopter button on the left, click near an air base, and select Russia, Ka-50, and under "skill" you select "player". In the waypoint field below you can select either "takeoff from parking" or "takeoff from runway". The former starts you on the parking area with engines off, the latter on the runway with engines on. If you do the same but have placed yourself on a FARP (exist under "static objects" -> "Heliport") the position will be the same but differentiate whether engines are on or off. Nate--IRL-- Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Go into the mission editor and place a Ka-50 at an airport and set the pilot to Player and you should be good to go. mtwomey Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Great, this is what I was looking for as well. I imagine it's likely that many newcomers might want the same thing. Devs - it might make sense to include a "free flight" mission in a future patch/update (save some people some searching). Just a suggestion. Thanks, -Matt
KrUEgER888 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Check in subforum " Tracks, Missions and Campaigns" you will find several free flight missions. Happy hunting I dont drive fast, I just fly low:pilotfly:
