Joystick controls mapping lost but the rest is ok.

Hi all. I reinstalled DCS. I copied the former files of my controls in saved games but DCS dont show my joystick controls. I dont have any problem with MFDs and throttles, they are working right. I´ve seen other links but I dont know how to fix it. It recognize the joystick but there are not my controls. (I have a back up of a big part of the former core DCS as well )dcs.log.old

Make sure the hardware IDs of your devices didn't change in Windows. If they did, just rename the old diff files with the new IDs, and everything will be back to normal.
Make a backup obviously!

I cant see the name of the hardware with device manager but I can see the id, so I dont know wich one is the Joystick. Are there any link with steps about that? Im looking for but I dont find that. I supose that nothing has changed because Falcon BMS is working fine and it always have problems with controls if that changes.

Right. Open Saved Games DCS/DCS.openbeta Config Input and check the files in the trouble some modules.
If there are identical files, let's say for the Warthog, but different numbers (IDs), in the file names, then those peripherals have had their IDs changed for some reason.

Forgot mention. Open controls settings and do a device rescan. Might help.

nullI see this in saved games. I dont see any ID inside the luas. I did a device rescan yesterday.

The USB ID is within the file name, enclosed in brackets. Assign at least one command for the Hornet on the new DCS, then exit DCS and look at the files again, you should see a new file with different ID and today's date. Copy its name onto a scratchpad, then delete the new file and rename the old one with the name you saved on the scratchpad .. repeat for other devices.

It always give the same ID to the file, the same name, even if I enter without joystick lua. I change it with former lua and there is not my former config. I tried 5 or 6 times but ... Im thinking in remove the usb and try to enter after connect but I dont kno if that going to crash every hardware on dcs.

Like Rudel said, and I wrote above. The ID is in the file name. You don't get doubles, so that's not the problem.
Did you try to rescan devices, especially if you have hotplug disabled.

@impreza If changing filenames manually as Rudel suggested gets confusing, have you tried importing your backup diff.luas using "Load profile" button on controls screen? One by one, of course. It's an alternative method and I used it successfully when I was in similar situation like you.

Seems like I didn't understood your problem, can you attach your dcs.log file to gather more clues? 

On it I could see what devices DCS recognizes at start on your PC. For example on mine it logs:

I did rescan, import files, etc. Its very weird. In some cases like mig 21 or Harrier and F16 all controls are lost now but not mfds. In case of Mirage F1, the plane I have been using since last week, all is right except the joystick. I reinstalled DCS twice others years and I never had a problem with controls.

Lua files have different dates and I changed the box of the PC. Problably any usb wasnt placed well, but all was working right. Maybe that´s it.
