I manage to land ok, on flat fields etc. Problem is that when taking off the helo seems to topple over all the time. Is there a bug with the crash detection or something as this should not be so sensitive as this being a helocopter can land on ground other than airfields and pads providing it's solid enough. As soon as the collective is raised normal takeoff it happens, or should I yank the collective up quick to make it shoot up like a rocket.

possible its your its your flying habbits thats at fault. no bugs landing on ground or take off for me.

cyclic inputs must be small , smooth collective as well on take off and landing, sudden increase in collective will stall out the engines.

also take into account wind factors on take off and landing.

Sounds like a trim issue to me. Learn to anticipate the Helo - At take-off, get her 'Wheels-Light', ie still on the ground but in essence resting on eggs, so to speak. In this posture you will 'feel' the imbalance and correct prior to lifting off, thus negating the issue.

Hope that makes sense :)

trims should be set to neutral the cyclic /rudder , =centred before take off and landing.

I have not tried to trim before I lift, all I do is push the cyclic forward a bit as I do on lifting from concrete to stop the sudden tilt back on lift off.

So am I must be doing it wrong then. Should I before lifting, push the cyclic forward a bit, trim at that position and then lift.

Also, make sure your wheelbrake is not on....I tried landing on soft ground a couple times, and the heli rolled to the side...took me a while to figure out what i was doing wrong!!

I have seen an issue like this on one of the online servers. It was asthough your wheels were frozen in the mud and ice. The only way to take off (it only effected a few spawn points that were off the pavement) was to give massive amount of collective very quick so you brea free. If you tried a gentle rise off the ground it would send you crashing left or right into the ground.

I am aware of the breaks FWIW...

I have not seen that map in rotation lately though. Not sure what server it was but hey there one only like 8 servers online at any given time an 2 that are not locked down... Likely someone else here suffered the same fate. Once I figured it out I would pick a slot that spawned on the tarmac. In a spot that gave me a good view of others falling over. :)

That's exactly what I am getting, but it's not using online, only single play when I create a basic traing mission without wind, and anything else going on. Sometimes if you try and taxi off concrete onto grass very slowly, the same effect happens. Like getting glued to the grass or in a pothole.

I get the wheels stuck in the dirt sometimes when I respawn at a FARP and it puts me in the grass. If that happens, quickly applying a higher collective setting will get you "unstuck".

However, if it happens after you land in the grass... you're experiencing dynamic rollover. It only takes a few degrees of tilt before physics takes over and the helicopter falls over.

The way I was taught to lift up was to slowly add collective until the helicopter gets light on the skids wants to move one way of the other, lower collective slightly, correct for the undesired movement, and continue adding collective. continue this process of fine adjustments until the helicopter is balanced and gently lifts off the ground.

If the helicopter has sideways movement and bumps into a clump of grass it can roll over. And remember in the shark, the front wheels lift off first.

The "back tilt" is normal. A lot of helicopters hover with the nose slightly high since the rotor system is tilted slighty forward so that cruise are more comfortable and don't make you slide out of your seat :)

Neutralize all trim, increase collective slowly and smoothly, and she'll hover nicely.

(BTW: I love how one wheel seems to "pop" out of the mud on grass surfaces! Kudos!)

I rather guess it's a bug, honestly. I noticed that both, on takeoff and on landing.

In one occasion I landed in front of a large building on the airfield, the one that is surrounded by other aircraft and the few trucks. It has a concrete texture in front of it, so I though I park there.

The moments my wheels softly touched the ground, I was bumped up so hard, that I flipped 2 loops backwards, higher than the roof of the building and landed on the rotor, exploding immediately.

The second time on landing happened on the 159th server, when blue was spawning off the farps on the ground. With the cold helo I started bouncing and bumping until my helo was rolled over and the rotors were all broken off before I even started the APU.
