Frakin Toasters Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Hi. I am under the impression i can load my gunship with AIM missiles, or other AA missiles. But they are nowhere to be found in the maintenance menus. Please advise!
Boberro Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Ka-50 can't use A-A missiles. Its computer device doesn't recognise these weapons now. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ

Actually i asked why the Ka-50 couldn't carry four racks of ATGMs, completely different, thankyou. And that, and this, are purely because i am trying to learn about the subject matter. I don't know why you are so intent on making me out to look like an incessant cheater. Also i think i saw someone saying you could on a forum, there was also a mod somewhere that improved the model of the AIM missile, and having spent a lot of time browsing the game folders there are some sound effects for AIM missile tracking that i assumed would be used in-game when carrying AA missiles. It looks like a number of things led me to believe disinformation.

What I said then still apply's though, do it off line and no problems but go on line with an incorrect load, ATGM's or Aim's, and people will get hacked off. Just advising you incase you did not know the on line etiquette, clearly you do. I wasn't suggesting you are a cheat, just some light hearted banter, no offence meant. There is an Aim mod on this site, along with loads of other Ka 50 upgraded weapons, skins etc etc: http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php You will need to use the latest version of Modman to get it into the game, that is on the downloads section as well. You might need to register first, easy to do. In the Ka 50 LUA file the weapon racks have allocated weapons shown as CLSID numbers. All you do is work out which aircraft has an Aim on it, which pylon its on, identify the Aim CLSID, copy and paste the Aim CLSID line from the aircraft file onto the Ka 50 pylon you want to use, it might not line up properly and it might not launch, never tried it myself but that is how you do it for any weapon loadout, copy and paste, simple as that. Works well with bombloads on AI aircraft, do not think it will work on a flyable Ka 50, no electronics to run it. Getting it to work is another problem. Hope that helps.
Frakin Toasters Posted March 19, 2009 Author Posted March 19, 2009 Oh i never actually wanted to mod it in and use it, i wondered if it was possible in the vanilla game and i was just missing something. The AIM missile was the one i saw on lockonfiles actually, i thought it was just an upgraded model. Thanks anyway dude
Distiler Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 You can use Vikhr missiles against air targets. In fact you have buttons for A-A mode in the left panel. AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2
EtherealN Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Anyone happen to know what exactly changes in the algorithms when you use the AA mode as opposed to Ground Moving? Is it adjusting some of the contrast detections for the environment or something similar? Boberro Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 For AA mode fuze explosion is changed. Example it does boom before hit or behind. You know, few meters before\behind target. Frakin Toasters Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) I know about the AA mode, thanks though. So Vikhr uses proximity detonation as opposed to direct impact? Interesting Edited March 20, 2009 by Frakin' Toasters
GGTharos Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 It does come with a proximity fuze for anti-air use, yes. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Frakin Toasters Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 Nah this forum is stupid, in that if i press control + v (which i do occasionally just to see what i have on my clipboard, in case there's something important before i go copying something else), it pastes a screenshot if i have taken one, and when i delete the link, it decides to go ahead and post the link anyway.
