Force Feedback is a very useful feature, but if you don't need that, Saitek x52 is a good chois, I have the pro version which is more precise than the non-pro, but not a big difference, I got it most for its better look.

And don't forget a pedal! It's even more useful than force feedback!

Oh! TrackIR!

I use a Saitek Cyborg Evo Force and I am very happy with it except for the point that it's force feedback doesn't quite agree with DCS. If you intend to use the stick only for DCS you could get it's non-FFB cousin and you'll be at a very very cheap stick that saves you the money you will be wanting to spend on a proper pedal kit. ;)

'cause pedals are awesome.

CH fighterstick + Pro Throttle + Pro rudders + TrackIR all the way. Well that be my opinion.

I probably recomend more to use the forum search engine, google + some research and then decide what is best for YOU. Crap controllers are one thing, who cares. Good stuff is another and anything half way into quality town costs more then a sneeze so worth the effort to find what suits your budget but more importantly your needs.

If you be the average Joe around these parts throwing these into a search engine will help you on your way.

I'm using x-52pro HOTAS, saitek rudder and TrakIR, they work great.

About the trackir, you played without it for a while, but once I used it, I just want to keep using it forever. Cause it's just natural. If you're worried about your budget, try Freetrack, some people in this forum use that, so ask around, somebody should be able to help you.

And don't forget, google is your friend, use it!

It depends on your budget limit but I ran into some very good helicopter controllers available.

I believe you should get in touch with Urze from Left Side Limited, his X52 mod is simply amazing!

While i wholeheartedly support a complete CH setup, having used one for 5 years, i find the X-52Pro a bit more versatile. The CH Fighterstick is too big even for a 6'4" guy with XL hands.

Steer clear of the G940, pure xxxx, loads of refurbs on ebay just after 6 months on the market, poor software and firmware.

The X-65 forces sensing motionless has centering issues that are being worked out, apart from reports of De Quervain's tendinopathy from the forces required to operate.

The Warthog is slowly turning into the hardware vaporware equivalent of Oleg's latest creation.

Some of the hardcore IL-2 fans will advise a Cougar stick with aftermarket springs with an X-52Pro throttle and Saitek Pro pedals, but for midgets the CH pedals will work, their main issue in addition to being very narrow is no centering force.

I JB Weld-ed the Z axis on the X-52Pro last night (adios warranty), can't wait to see how it fares tonight.

I recomend a Saitek Cyborg Evo Force. Unfourtunatly it's a choosen one if you wish to use Force Feed Back. The expiriens of FFB is very greatfull! Trimming work very good. Optic sensors have a long lifetime.

My confuguration is: Saitek CEF + Logitech Freedom24= HOTAS, FreeTrack and pedals of MOMO Racing. It's very comfortable.
