159th_Viper Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 .......159th Guards Aviation Regiment....... After a lengthly absence, the 159th GAR is proud to announce the return of the DCS: Black Shark Dedicated server accessible from the DCS: Black Shark Multiplayer User-Interface. The Primary reason for the noticed absence was occasioned to provide to the Multiplayer Community a server willing and able to Deliver the Goods, so to speak, and as a consequence the server has been upgraded to the following Configuration: Processor: E6850 Core 2 Duo @ 3.0Ghz RAM: 4 Gigabytes GPU: nVidia 8600 GS 100 MB connection With the addition of Acedy's Server Management Mod in the near future the server is well established to provide to the DCS Multiplayer Community that which they strive for - An Environment where we can strive to increase our Flight Skills through a medium of Missions designed to Foster and Nurture Training in and Dedication to the Simulation, but most of all a place where we can have Fun! The Server is currently situated in San Diego, USA at the Zanadoo%20Server"]Zanadoo Server Hosting Company and provides correspondingly low Pings internationally with the attendant increase in playability. With Zanadoo's extremely competitive rates and attendant packages they indeed come highly recommended - well worth investigation if in the market for a dedicated server! All Said and Done, the Primary Purpose of the Server and availabilty thereof is ultimately driven by YOU, the DCS Community Member......All we ask is that the server is Utlilized and Used, Not Abused. For a list of Rules regulating the conduct on the server, navigate over to the Forums and have a wee Browse. At the end of the Day, It's all about the SIM and the enjoyment thereof. 159th Dedicated & TeamSpeak Server: Dedicated DCS all day every day See You in the Virtual Skies! Fudd Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Server is running like a scalded puppy. We have a new mission coming up on Thursday with over 600 units in the mission. It should be tons of fun and test the capacity of this new machine. 2 The code is probaly in Russian anyway.
hitman Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Great. I can watch myself get shot down with high FPS! >:( 1
Mustang Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 (edited) Great server 159th, had a nice fly in there late last night, smooth and stable! Edited March 25, 2009 by Mustang
ericinexile Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 The "King of the Hill" beta mission is possibly the most fun I've had yet in Multiplayer. (Pardon my embarrassment if I have the wrong server). For those who haven't played it, it is more Unreal-style FPS shooter than a real application of A2A tactics but it is super fun. Red and Blue FARPs are hidden in max fog to prevent vulching. There is also an overcast layer at 1000m. The goal is a hill that is protected by opposing AAA covering each covering its own half, leaving a small friendly cone from which to prevent the other guys from taking the top of the hill. Just refueling/rearming alone is a challenge. Smokin' Hole My DCS wish list: Su25, Su30, Mi24, AH1, F/A-18C, Afghanistan ...and frankly, the flight sim world should stop at 1995.

Just refueling/rearming alone is a challenge. It quickly becoming one of my favorites too :) Altough the problem seems to be there are so few people who really wants to engage in PvP - and/or they dont understand how to fly IFR in the fog and disconnect prematurely. But with time I hope there are more people who learn to like this aspect. :) The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
ericinexile Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 PvP is really the only way to get any satisfaction out of Multiplayer without devoting a huge amount of time coordinating the mission start with other players and the server. As a father, I don't have that kind of time to commit. So I find myself on IL2 far more than DCS. in short, I agree with you...broader acceptance of A2A would be nice. I'll look for you on this mission. Last week you splashed me twice in a row so I could use the practice.
